Columbia Sportswear Grade Max Jacket Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

Excellent cold weather capability. With just a long sleeve underneath the Grade Max will suffice in temps ranging from 20-30 degrees. The Omni-Heat is no gimmick. The silver lining is really eye-popping and I'm not sure what to make of it. It seems to stick to my under layer. Quality and construction are top notch. The wool material adds a really nice touch to it. I'm 6'0 and 185lbs, a size M fits me perfectly. I'll grab this before my TNF Venesborg jacket when I'm going out. It has no bulk to it which is very important to me. Best fleece I've owned.

This is a great jacket. Fits perfect. The wool is where it needs to be and the polyester is too, so movement is not impaired. The cuffs are poly, so it doesn't wear out as fast. The omni heat liner is neat, little shiny but okay none the less. Sizing is true, I got a medium, it you are planning on layering a lot, go to the larger size.

Those little silver dots really work. So much to the point where I rarely take it out skiing, as it tends to be too warm. But for cool weather, this makes a great outer piece, or as a burly mid-layer for truly arctic conditions. Be careful when you are about town and have it unzipped, people will see the silver dots and start asking questions.

Nice jacket

I love the look and materials of this jacket. It's high-tech, but the soft exterior is almost like a sweater. My only complaint is that the sleeves, particularly the forearms, are a little tight. This makes it uncomfortable to wear anything thicker than a t-shirt or thin base layer underneath. For reference, I'm 6'-2", 200 lbs, athletic build, and ordered a large.

Great Jacket

I had one similar however as my kids grew they began stealing my favorite clothes. I saw this on sale and had to have it. Only issue is the length of sleeves, they are a bit long in ratio to last one I bought. But I still reccommend this to anyone. I just wish it was made in USA>

Great, but sleeves snug.

This is a great classy casual jacket because it looks like a much more pricey wool jacket than a fleece, and you can't beat the reflective space suit lining for warmth. The only issue is that the sleeves seem very narrow, especially with a sweater underneath even with my relatively slim arms. But not a deal-breaker; just be warned.

Love It!

With Omni-Heat, Omni-Shield and Omni-Wind I'm omni'ed out. But what can I say this is a light weight but very warm jacket. Columbia quality is great. Great for layering in really cold temps and as a stand-alone jackets when the temp is in the 30's. Construction is great and fit is true to size.

Nice and warm. The omni-shield is nice up here in the PNW with spontaneous showers.

Negative Reviews:

Not attractive with mixed materials

I thought this was a solid nylon coat, it was a mixed material coat and not attractive with the wooley material and nylon. Would not recommend.
