Trip to Ireland | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I wore this trip to Ireland during early September. The average temperature was low 60s and rainy. The coat was light and kept me dry. I would say it is breathable, but not to the point that you don't get a bit warmer from wearing it. I usually run a little warm, so that was my primary concern. I would wear a long sleeve shirt underneath this jacket and felt fine. I am very happy with the jacket and would purchase it again.

Second time i bought one!!

| This jacket is so good that when my first one was stolen, I went and bought the same one. This is the best 3 seasons jacket/shell I have bought. I use it as a water proof shell with a fleece in the winter, use it as a wind shell and for warmth in cold weather rafting, and as an every day rain jacket year round. A little warm in the dead heat of summer. Just wish it had more pockets. | |

Short experience but...

I just came from a short hike with this jacket. So far the weather here (southwestern Germany) was fair during weekends. Not much rain to feel the real pros of this jacket. As the other person stated - it is breathable enough so the body keeps partially its heat. Specially I like the big side pockets. Very useful for small gadgets. In a nutshell - I would buy this jacket again.

Great jacket at a great price

| With my fleece base-layer, my Columbia polar fleece vest, and my Titanium parka I was dry, comfortable and mobile throughout my climb despite 15-20 MPH winds and 0 degree F at the summit making the wind chill feel like -20 F. I was very happy with the jacket. I would like to see real pit zips though instead of chest pocket/vents. | |

Check the size carefully

| Really like the jacket - but the size L (always ok with Columbia products before) was clearly too small in the chest & waist. Sleeves were fine - but no room to layer with a vest, etc., beneath. Re-ordered XL fits dandy. It *would" be good if there were pockets beyond the front zip vents/pockets in front. | |

good | |

| The thickness is perfect for rainy weather. Thin enough for a hike, thick enough to function properly, and BREATHABLE. Only downside is that they sent me one size too big, but it's fine b/c I can comfortably fit a sweatshirt underneath it for really cold days. | |

Great waterproof shell

| This is another great Columbia product - lightweight, waterproof, with a nice mesh liner to keep it from sticking to your skin. Arms are plenty long, with Velcro adjusting cuffs. Cut is trim, but adequate. Hood does not roll up or stow. | |

Great Jacket | |

| We live in the mountains and it can get very cold when the wind is blowing. I needed windproof and waterproof. This jacket is great for that. | |

great jacket | |

| The jacket is great all the way around. I'd prefer the option of a detachable hood, but that would not keep me from buying it. | |
