Cute Coat

I was nervous about ordering this online due to sizing questions. I have another Columbia down coat from 2 seasons ago and that's a Medium but many online reviews state this runs small. Glad I ordered the large due to this length is slightly past hips and since I have some hip to me it would not have fit in a Medium. That being said it still fits well throughout the rest of the coat! I am small on top with somewhat wider hips but this fits perfect. Not the warmest coat in the world but it works for my purpose which is to/from work, out and about when wanting to look cute but still stay pretty warm in MN winters. I won't be using this one when out ice fishing, winter hiking, etc but that wasn't why I bought it anyways. I wore a medium weight sweater under this today and it's below zero. I was only outside for short bursts of time but I was comfy and cozy!
Only con to this: it's a removeable hood instead of being able to remove just the fur. My other Columbia the fur is removeable and I prefer that, but it's no deal breaker.
Color is nice and dark but more grey/blue color with black checking. Thought it would be more black, but I still like it :)

Very well made coat, so lightweight, and warm! I am a size 4 and usually wear a woman's' small, but ordered a medium based on other reviews, and it fits perfectly! Room left to wear a couple layers underneath if needed. Sleeves are a little long, but they are snug enough that they do not slide over your hands. Inner lining is color coordinated, so the sleeves actually look cute cuffed if you so desired. It is a little on the puffy side, but not overwhelming. A little boxy, but still stylish. I live in Texas, so feel this may be more coat than I really need as far as warmth, so am considering sending it back for something more thin and form fitting, which can get away with in Texas and still be warm. If I still lived up north, I would definitely be keeping this coat since cute, and very warm. And, just fyi...the hood does not tighten up around your face, so really would not add that much warmth, more style. Very nice coat!

I'm so happy that I bought this coat! I'm 5'6" 115lbs and the Small fits perfectly, even with a hoodie on underneath! I was surprised when I picked up the box at how lightweight this coat really is. I gave the style 3 stars because it is a little "boxy" and not fitted like I am used to, but the comfort and overall feel of this coat makes it totally worth it. I have worn this coat in the rain and snow and it kept me warm and dry. Buy this coat. You'll be glad you did.

cute cute coat!

I purchased this coat in the cabela's store so was able to try it on. I am tall with long arms so always have a problem with the sleeves long enough. I purchased the red velvet and thought it was very pretty more of a burnt orange red,and the sleeves were long. it is a fitting coat but very warm. I usually wear a large but had to get an XL. so i advise to go up 1 size then normal. Over all I love the coat and would purchase again

I bought this as a gift because it looked like a great puffy for the price, and Columbia has always been a quality product. First, for sizing, she's 5'8", 135lbs - and the Small fit perfect - it contoured to her shape and showed off some curves. The length fell below the waist to about mid-butt. The only problem is the color, I bought the Black, but when it showed up, it was a gunmetal/charcoal grey. She had her heart set on a true black, so I'll be returning this coat.

I just got my jacket today and totally love it! It fits perfect! Reading other reviews about the fit I was afraid it was going to be too small but it fits to a T! It keeps me warmer than my $400 Patagonia jacket! And its so lightweight! I excited to see how this jacket stands up to the cold weathers here in Montana! So far I am completely satisfied!

Very happy with this jacket. So lightweight, but extremely warm. It was -8 this morning and I walk two blocks from my car to office. It kept me very warm. Size small seems true to size, I can still wear a sweater under it with no problem. Love the color "abyss." The sleeves are a bit long, but overall I love my new jacket, especially at the clearance price.

The coat is very warm. I brought a large so I can wear my fleece. Is very light weight but keeps you warm. The coat is not water proof. Do not wear it while it is raining. I wore it in a drizzle and my coat soaked it up light tissue. The material can get dirty fast as well. Be careful with dirty hands. I like the coat.

I bought this jacket for a Kick around jacket to wear to the store or the movies or any outing really. I probably will even wear this jacket on the ski hill on a nicer day. It is warm and comfy and moves wearing a comfy slipper. Love Columbia products!!!

Gave this to my very picky daughter for Christmas and she loved it! I love how it fits her and it seems to be very warm. It looks great!

Negative Reviews:

not a good fitting jacket

I ordered this coat then returned it as soon as I put it on. I live in Canada and a jacket like this is not acceptable for winter use. More like a dressy jacket I guess. I am a short person and this jacket was still too short for my body... comes above my pant waist line.. and i ordered an XL and the fit seemed to be for a child not a woman. too short in the body, too tight in the arms and the zippers on the pockets are very small cheap plastic and would break right away. The look of the coat is nice but not at all useful for where I live. Sorry I do not recommend this coat and would not purchase it again.

Neutral Reviews:

I bought the sea salt color as a gift for my mother-in-law. I am 5'4" 140lbs and the medium fit me well. I assumed it would be an off white shade but it was more metallic gold or silver depending on the lighting which wasn't as attractive. This is why it was returned. The warmth was there, but it definitely won't keep you dry. Does not compare to my North Face but it was 1/3 of the price!
