If you don't own this jacket...you need to!
If there was a way to give this jacket another star I would have. Being a professional hunter I can tell you that there isn't anything more important to a successful hunt than having the right gear. I've had this jacket for four weeks and I've traveled 7500 miles and hunted in three different states and I can tell you that this jacket held up to every test I could have put it through. The versatility of this jacket kept me warm in the cold woods of Wisconsin and I was still able to wear just the outer shell and hunt a warm South Texas for the opening of bow season. The quiet pockets located on the chest allowed me to keep deer in front of me as I reached for my range finder without spooking them. If you're a bowhunter you know how important it is to keep quiet and this jacket is just that. If you don't have this jacket in your arsenal for this season...you need to.
Nothing this thin should feel this warm
I bought an Omniheat jacket in Decemeber. Thinner than a single layer of fleece, and I couldn't believe how warm it was. It's great at stopping wind too. I was so impressed that this thin jacket with Omniheat was warm enough for cold Michigan days in December, that I looked to see if they had a hunting coat. The inner jacket has the silver layer and some insulation. It is crazy warm! The parka has another layer of the omni-silver-stuff, and all together the "Quad" is warmer than anything I have ever owned from Cabela's, and I buy the BEST. All day, 10 below in Manitoba, no problem. Actually, the only problem is getting too hot. I carried the parka and just wore my bibs till I got on stand. Simply amazing. It feels like it's electrically powered. The snaps and zippers are top grade. Excellent construction and pockets. The removable hood has an elastic head band, great fit!
