After checking out all the competition - this was perfect
| Rating: | ![]() |
I love this suit. Bought it for my 9 month old and it has kept him toasty on several cold and snowy days here in CT. I checked out all the competition online and in stores and this served our needs at the right price. Size was great (my son is 99 percentile for height and I got the 18 month). Also - I tried on the Patagonia one in the store and this seemed to be MUCH more comfortable for him when zipped up. After reading the reviewers from Alaska rave about this I knew it would be good. The fold-over hands and feet are awesome since my son loves to kick off his shoes and yanks off his gloves (you don't have to use them). I think that if your child is older and walking (my son is not) and more likely to get wet then a synthetic fabric might be more practical than the down but there is no comparison for warmth to this suit. Also - it compressed comfortably when we stuck him in the carseat and the smoothe fabric inside means easy in and out (easier to put on than his regular coat!).

Very warm, no drafts, but buy a size larger than you think.

We live in northern Canada and we spend tons of time outside-- this snowsuit rocks. Don't even need to put a toque (wool hat) on our son when he has the hood on (and hood is nice and fuzzy inside). Hand and foot fold-over flaps keep out snow and drafts, a must in cold weather.

Down bunting | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
For some reason, there weren't a lot of choices when I went looking specifically for a down bunting (not fleece). I found this Columbia one, and it is just right. Well, actually, the first one was size 12M for my 12M old, and it was too short to wear with the feet closed in my carrier. I swapped it out for the size 18M and we are now set. It is very snuggly, though I expected it to be a little heavier. On cold days, I use layers underneath and it's fine. My son is very comfortable in it, and usually falls asleep in the land of snuggliness. Easy to get on and off. A very good value for the money.

great suit | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
This suit is great! I have a big 3.5 month old. He has just outgrown size 3-6 mo clothes and fits with room to grow in 6 mo size. I bought him the 12 mo snow suit, and it worked great with plenty of room, but fit enough that I didn't wish I had bought the smaller size. Since the feet can come out of this one, he may still be able to use it next year when he can wear boots. I also like the nylon interior because it's easy to slip him in. We used this for snow play with the older kids in 20-30 degree weather and he was toasty warm. It washes and dries fine also.

Great price, Great Quality for Alask's winter

My 1 yr old doesn't seem to mind that when I put him in this bunting everytime we go the cold here in Anchorage, Alaska. I loved that when I forgot his mitten, I can just simply fold over the hand cover to keep his hands warm and it looks great in the snow. And my son can easily move/walking around with it and it is very light weight, not like the other snow suite we had that he fussed everytime we put him on that heavy thing. I loved it, it is great price and great quality for everyday uses. Good customer service as well when I called them. Thank you!

great bunting, seems sizing is correct

very warm, easy to "insert" my son in (we have size 6MO, he is 3 months but has already 15 lb). I think the sizing is correct, because he will be able to wear it at least for another month and he is wearing other clothes 3-6 months since he was 2 months. The only thing I would complain about is too small opening for his head when the zip is closed (maybe for smaller babies it would work better, I have to keep it slightly unzipped) and no cloth protection from zip inside.

THE BOMB BUNTING!!! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
First off, let me say that this suit is the bomb ! ( the bomb is a slang term for great). I bought one last year for my 3 month old and it made my transporting her very easy. You really don't need bulky sweaters underneath. I only wish I would've ordered 12mos instead of 6mos so she could wear it again this year. That's ok , for this price I can afford to get another. Please don't ever stop making these suits. I'm 32 but wish I could fit in one because they look so comfy.

Love it! | |

This suit was perfect! I thought it felt a little lightweight when I opened it, but it's so warm that I have to keep my van on the cool side so my little man doesn't overheat! He stays really warm and dry, even when I can tell that the outside is getting wet. I'm very happy with it! I also like that the hand and feet covers are really long, so they will not let snow in, even if he's playing around a bit. Plus, backcountry delivered it quite quickly. I believe I'll be using them again!

good bag. I am using it to carrying my notebook to work and back, every day. Now, I have 4th. Lifetime of one in my frequent usage is almost 1,5 years. Then is not suitable to use it at customer side, but still working for 100%. Additional advantage is capacity. All my staff easily fit inside (notebook, accessories, coat). Result: I can recomend to buy this product. (and buy new one as soon, as curent one will be out of order (so after 1 and half year))

Columbia Down Snowsuit
| Rating: | ![]() |
My infant grandson lives in northern New England, famous for long harsh winters. I searched very carefully for a snowsuit that will help him comfortably negotiate the daily trip between his home and his child care center, and on Sunday dog walks on wintry Atlantic beaches. This suit was the warmest that I could find; that includes feet, hand coverage and hood, which fits him well. His mom says she would not change anything about it! Thanks.
