Looking for a good starter set of waders

Rating:*****
I was looking for an inexpensive pair of waders to get started with and found these ones online. I took a chance and ordered them. At first I was sketchy on the size as I wasn't able to find any locally that fit me. I ordered them in a large (I'm 6'2" tall and 190lbs) and they fit perfectly. I tried them out right away, and was nothing short of impressed! Easy to get on, the sizing chart was bang on, the sock foot fit perfect as did the waist and chest. The socks didn't leak at all and came out nice and dry. Will likely never wet wade again.

Nice Waders - Sizing Problem

Rating:****
I ordered a small based on the sizing chart and a conversation with a CSR. A size small has a 46" chest, 48" hip and no shoe size information. I have a 43" chest, 38" waist, 42" hip and 8 1/2 shoe. I could not get the waders on. The shoe size is less than a size 8. I exchanged them for a large which are roomy enough, but too long. I am 5' 10" tall. There does not seem to be a size that will fit an average build. I recommend these if you can get a size to fit.

Keeping dry and cool

Rating:*****
Sierra Trading Post does it again with a great price on some great waders. You gotta love waterproof breathable waders for fishing streams in the summer. Put on some polypropelene underneath for float tubing in cold waters and they hold up great. Even in Alaska, they do great! [...] They have reinforced legs so brush doesn't rip them and the seams seem (no pun intended) to hold up very well. Well made. They should last 5 years with heavy use and that is great for a wader in my book.

Solid, basic waders

Rating:****
The sizing on these are kinda weird. I ordered a small (I'm 5'11", 190lbs, 32" inseam, 9.5 shoe size) and the waders just fit. I don't wear a small in anything so I was leery when I ordered them. I don't wear much for insulation so they will work for me. But be warned, these are sized as if they were clothing and not something that goes OVER clothing. But the price is right. I'm only a casual fisherman and they seem just fine.

Nice waders but small feet1

Rating:****
These are nice waders and were a really good deal but the feet run small. My husband is 5'10" and 170 lbs so we ordered a Medium. The feet were like a size 8. Who that size has feet that small? So we had to order a Large which are a little big but the feet are about right ~ size 10.

Very comfortable

Rating:*****
I use these for field research - which means I go through them quickly. I have owned ~10 different brands of chest waders. The main problem (besides leaking) has been feet that are either to small or too large for the waders themselves. I purchased size Large and they have appropriately sized stocking feet for the size of the waders.

Good quality and Fit

Rating:****
I have not had the opportunity to use them as of yet, but upon first impression they look well made, and fit me quite well.  I am 6'3" and 230 lbs and ordered XL.

So far so good.....

Rating:****
So far these waders are great, but I've only had them a week and used them 4 times. Only time will tell.

Negative Reviews:

Incredibly disappointed in Columbia

Rating:*
I'm very disappointed in Columbia; these seem like a failed product that they tried to dump. I'm 5'6", between 130 and 140 depending on which side of Christmas we're on, and my shoe size is 8 or 8.5. STP's size chart didn't give enough info, so I went to Columbia's. (Good luck finding it there; no link to waders, even through their fishing gear section and using their search box turned up no results for waders. I had to do a web search to go in through the back door to find it.) Based on Columbia's website, I selected a Small. STP did their usual fine job of filling the order, but when I tried on the waders, the neoprene boots were so small my toes hurt. I kept them only long enough to see if the next size would work but a Medium seems out of the question. The top of the Small came up to my armpits.

A bit of a disappointment. LEAKY BUTT

Rating:*
I got my first set of these adn on the third trip, my Butt was totally wet. [...] I float tube fish and have not had this problem with other breathable waders. I will be contacting sierra trading post again and will be switching brands from Columbia. Bummer.

Not for big feet

Rating:*
Seemed like this would be a good product but I didn't use them. This was an XL wader but but the stockingfoot was too small for my size 12 foot.
Chet at Sierra Trading Post on 10/14/2009

leaked on 4th htrip

Rating:*
In general the waders were great but the foot started to leak after only the 4th outing.
