Just what I need

I like this because I am planning a trip in which I may get rained on (like last year), and my old jacket doesn't repel water anymore. This looks easy to pack, and, unlike some "waterproof" gear, it does not stink like the Thing from the Plastic Swamp (not to mention any other product sold by another vendor). So I am bringing it to the Eastern Sierras this June. Hope it does NOT rain, but if it does, I won't be miserable (when I'm supposed to be having FUN). I tried this on, it fits my tall frame (6 foot 3) just fine. I'm all set.

Nice coat - but could use more pockets

I like this coat a lot. It's lightweight. Waterproofing is great and doesn't collect moisture inside when biking in it. I bought the tall man's even though I'm just 6' to get the extra length. All the other rain shells these days are waist length only and I wanted some extra length. I wish it had upper and lower sets of pockets. I bought it to replace my 10 year old Campmor branded rain shell and I like this one better in all respects except that my old shell had more and nicer pockets.

A truly great waterproof jacket

Bought this jacket as a lightweight top layer to use in snow camping. What a great choice. It breathes, blocks wind and lives up to it's watertight billing. I wore it lying while on my side digging a snow cave and it kept me dry far beyond what I would have expected it to. On top of that it dried out quickly while sitting in front of a campfire later. This was going to be my backup jacket- now it's my primary jacket.

Nice jacket for the price

I liked the jacket but when I say it is too much like nylon I mean that it is too much like a plastic feel vs. a GoreTex type of jacket that has a softer feel. This jacket fit well and is a good price but I do not like the sound of this type of nylon when you walk. If that don't bother you than it is a nice jacket.

Just what he wanted!

I bought this jacket for my husband for Christmas. He is tall and has a hard time finding things that fit him well. This jacket fits him perfectly. It is a lightweight, yet well-made rain jacket that he plans to use on the river while fly fishing!

Excellent jacket for a tall man

Bought as a gift for a tall guy - he's raving about that fact that as he reaches up, there is no gap at the waist - he will stay warm there, too! Finally a long enough jacket for a tall person.

Not yet in rain, looks well made

Have not yet worn the jacket in the rain. It appears well designed and built.

If it does poorly in the rain I'll re-evaluate.

works well and warm too!

I used this jacket for two snow camping trips as a top layer. Worked great as a lightweight waterproof jacket for high level activities.

Columbia Men's Watertight Jacket

Great things: It fits! and he loves it
Uses: NorCal Downpours, just the right weight for damp early morning R/C flying

Very Nice

Very comfortable, lightly lined jacket seals up nicely to keep out rain and wind. Should accomodate layering with no difficulty.

Negative Reviews:

Not the solution for a light, waterproof

Bought this as I tired of Marmot Precips wearing out in a year. This seemed an affordable alternative. Cannot speak as to durability yet, but the zippers are awful. Both body and pockets grab and jam all the time. Need to hands to open the pocket or zip up. Would not buy another one of these.

Neutral Reviews:

Very Nice would buy again.

This has a permanently attached hood, that I don't care for, but the hood has a way to fold up and stow, but it isn't too efficient.

Bought this for rainy soccer and track season.
Hasn't really rained since I bought it.

merry christmas

I was very pleased with the quick service when I ordered online. The jacket was a gift and the recipient has not had a chance to use it yet so I cannot provide a full rating. I expect that it will be fine.

Put the "Tall" in the size please.

It's so difficult for people to understand the size chart nowaday, especially the size "Tall" is in the topic & not in the options of the size. I bought something that is extremely long.
