Amazing Value

Rating:*****

I picked up a pair of these when I was lucky enough to get a visit to the Columbia Employee Store. I got these for under $100 so I wasn't expecting much from them, but I was blown away this last weekend.

Saturday I took them to the local crag and was pleased that they handled the approach (1/2 mile) with ease over rough scrambling and some pretty large boulders. I then used them to climb so pretty good 5.6/5.7 climbs and was amazed that the Vibram soles stuck and held to such small cracks. No need to put on the rock shoes for simple climbs! They then took my off a 95 foot rappel and back to the camp ground for the night.

The next day I drove on up to Mt Hood and put them through their paces in the snow. I didn't think they would hold up since they seemed so supple and the sole was so grippy and soft on the rock. Sure kicking steps with them was a bit rough with only a 3/4 shank, but not any worse than any other similar boot. Feet stayed warm and dry all day.

Best part is the next day after using them my feet were fine with no blisters or wear marks. Pretty amazing for taking new boots out through a full weekend with no break in. My only gripe is no lip on the rear for level lock crampons. I only wonder if the Mountain Hardwear team were in on the design of these boots as I would have never guessed Columbia could make a boot for Mountaineering.

These boots are a perfect example of how a boot or shoe can get a very high rating yet end up being so uncomfortable. I have been wearing Columbia Trail Meisters for the past year and a half or so. I walk 4 to 6 miles nearly every day of the year. I walk on a levee which is composed of hard-packed dirt covered in 1/2-3/4 inch gravel, so it is important that the soles of my boots are thick enough to protect the bottoms of my feet from the rocks. The Trail Meisters are comfortable, and the bottoms are good for about six month, but these boots are no longer available, so after reading the ratings on the Titaniums and seeing the sturdy looking soles, I bought a pair. A couple of reviewers said there is some break in time, so like a fool, even after trying these heavy, stiff boots on and wearing them around the house, I went for a four mile walk. Then I gave the boots to a local Goodwill store. If you buy a pair of these and they don\\\'t feel comfortable out of the box, send them back or pay the price.

Extremely comfortable for ailing ankles! I have super flat feet and a bum ankle (had a bone removed a couple of years ago) and have been trying to find a boot with the right combination of arch and ankle support to keep my flat feet happy and my poor broken ankle from complaining too much. I've found them. These boots are amazingly comfortable. I can walk farther more comfortably than I have in any other boots I've tried (one pair of Timberlands and one pair of Merrells that just wore out too fast). I've worn them every day for about two months and they feels as good as they did when I put them on the first time.

Great looking boot - toe box is narrow - I was disappointed I had to return this great looking boot. My foot is a normal D width. While most of the boot seems to be the right width, the toe box seems to narrow dramatically, pushing my big toe towards the other toes. This hurts when I walk in the boot. I bought a half size bigger too since I am an avid hiker. Too bad, I really liked the way it looked!

Ordered these on a Monday night, Zappos overnighted them at no cost and had them in my hand Wednesday morning. I took them out immediately into a very hilly wooded area and they were comfy the whole 6 hours. Also shimmied up a tree at about a 65-70 degree angle, with no slipping from the sole. If I can keep them clean, I can wear them around town for work, too. Very comfortable, very good looking.

Great product! These boots took me wearing them a couple of times to get them broken in, but now, they feel fantastic. I like how they come higher up the ankle, and fit snug around the top collar. They are very comfortable, and pretty warm, for not being insulated. I've had them a month, and so far, no complaints. I believe they were worth the higher price. Lifetime warranty on the boot, so that's good!

Why Spend More?

Rating:*****

Wow! What a great product from Columbia. As with all Columbia boots, they fit great right out of the box and perform incredibly well. Absolutely no leaking and great support on difficult angles. You can buy a more expensive boot but why? These outperform any other boot I have ever owned and I have spent way more. Best deal on a waterproof hiker for sure. Thanks Columbia! Hike Tennessee!!!

sweet boots if you have tried other Columbia boots they feel the same and you would know , they feel good. I have tried many other boots of better brands and they do not feel this good. plus these do what they claim to do. full on waterproof. bottom line ....... if you like Columbia boots you will love these!

Awesome Foot Wear

Rating:****
Really great boot! I purchased them for my job in Iraq and they are awesome in this very austere environment. Not too hot, feet never hurt after wearing them for 12 hours or more. I can run in them, sleep in them, do anything that my job requires and my feet are the happiest they have been in years.

I think these this is the best money I've ever spent on footwear. When I took these boots out of the box, they looked too narrow. But when I slipped them on, they were felt perfect. Ankle support is great, & there's enough room to make my toes happy.

waterproof?

Rating:**

These boots are not as waterproofed as advertised in the description. I have been using them in wet snow and my feet have been soaked on a few occasions. They are ok in light rain/precipitation. The lack of decent waterproofing is the least of my complaints: one of grommets for the laces broke within a few weeks of use. Spend your money on something else.
