Confluence Carolina 12 Sit-Inside Kayak -

One of the most popular recreational day-touring kayaks on the market. The V-shaped hull with soft chines maximizes stability and performance and makes it easier for beginners to paddle. A generous 38" long cockpit is easy to enter and exit. The new Zone DLX seating system features an adjustable backrest, adjustable leg lifter and seat pad, which reduces pressure points on the body. Perimeter and criss-crossed bungee rigging secures gear or store your gear in the rear oval or 10" bow hatch. Outstanding storage capacity and a comfortable cockpit make this kayak a great choice for day trips and weekend adventures.

Fantastic boat

Great boat! I camp a lot and so the 2 bulkheads let me keep everything I need bone dry. Test the bulkheads before you put gear in them to be sure there are no leaks and if there are you can easily reseal them. It's still only 12 feet long so it can handle ocational class 3 rapids... I don't go much higher than that so I can't say how it handles on 4s and 5s. It's very well made and the zone seating is very comfortable. the only thing negative I can think of is the softness of polyethylene doesn't support much dragging. So if your put in or pull out is far from the vehicle get a cart to help transport it. otherwise you will grind down the bottom corners really fast. Over all I am extremely happy. Not to mention that the price in the store beat everyone else by far.

Bought two!

This is a great mid-level kayak. Easy entry and very stable, yet it tracks well and is easy to paddle. Although it says that it is a Confluence Holdings Kayak it comes as a Perception Carolina 12 (which is good thing!). Apparently CH is the mother company for Perception. You can look on several other web sites to see how the Carolina 12 is rated.
