Cortland 444Sl Fly Line -
Innovative Cortland fly lines have time-proven strength and durability. The 444SL lines are stiffer and designed for those long casts to reach fish. A special front taper is designed for distances and delicate casts, and a rigid design creates less droop and friction to let your line shoot quickly through the guides. The weight-forward design has a longer body section to carry it through the air with greater distance and accuracy. A glass-smooth surface and stiff finish coating eliminates line sag between rod guides, reducing unwanted friction.
Color: Mint Green.

Worth the price

I debated whether to spend this much on my 5wt line but after one too many frustrating days in our Montana wind decided to spring for the 444SL. Best fly fishing money I have spent lately. Absolutely shoots out with my fast Sage rod and even with a smaller tippet it is controllable in the wind. As my other weight lines wear out I will be going to this exclusively.

Excellent fly line

This fly line is excellent, casts well, shoots well. I purchased the double tapered line, and would not hesitate to get it again.

Negative Reviews:

444SL 6 weight

I wanted this to be as good as all the other reviewers wrote. I have to admit, it does cast very good and far. Most of the line floats well except the most important part, the tip. The tip started sinking on the 2nd day I used it. I cleaned it when I got home and it worked good on day one of the next trip and then the tip started to sink again on the 2nd day of fishing. I cleaned it again when I got home and on the 3rd trip it began to sink at the end of the first day. I cleaned it that night and it was good for ½ of the 2nd day. About 1 foot of the tip was sinking. I have decided to send it back and try yet another brand of floating fly line. I just want a fly line where the tip floats, it doesn't need to cast 40-50 feet.
