Craft Performance Storm Bib Tights
With 'storm' in the title of Craft's new Performance Storm Women's Bib Tights, it's safe to say that this technical piece of cycling apparel was built to take on whatever Mother Nature throws your way. They were engineered with Craft's signature anatomic fit and technical fabrics in order to keep you warm, comfortable, and protected from the weather that awaits you out there.
The paneling of the Performance Storm bib tights was constructed using several of Craft's technical 'body-control' fabrics. For the bulk of the leg panels, Craft chose to use its insulated C392 material. This lightly brushed polyester/polyamide fabric is highly elastic, which limits large muscle vibration and reduces the fatigue caused by road vibrations. In addition to being highly supportive, C392 is also incredibly warm. This means that you stay dry and comfortable, as it works to both insulate and to transfer moisture to its outer-layer. The front panels of the bib tights received Craft's stretchy, wind-blocking C393 fabric to provide you with flexibility, freedom of movement, and an additional barrier out front. By pairing these insulating and protective fabrics together to compose the bibs' lowers, Craft was able to create exceptional muscle hold while still letting your body freely move through the pedaling motions. Moving up to the bib straps, Craft built the braces and open back panel with a combination of its flexible, fleece-backed C232 and C350 fabrics. These materials are some of Craft's most breathable wind-blocking fabrics, creating a supportive top section that allows air to channel through its composition.
For the fit of the Storm bib tights, Craft designed them using anatomic fabric panels that mimic the cycling position. This means that the multi-paneled pattern is curved, which allows for a full-range of movement without any fabric pinching or chafing. The bib portion also follows this design, utilizing a large, curved open back panel and straps that move with you as you ride.
The Performance Storm bib tights use Craft's women's-specific Performance chamois. Using a seamless, three-layer construction, the Performance insert has been anatomically molded and given an antimicrobial treatment. While all of this equates to abrasion-free comfort on the surface, what you'll really notice is Craft's attention to the pressure zones of the chamois. The inner two layers use high-density foams that've been laser-cut and feature a perforated construction to promote airflow. The third layer uses the new EVA Anti-shock System at the rear of the chamois. EVA reduces vibrations, both large and small, for a consistently comfortable ride quality. The densities of the foams vary throughout the insert in order to only add support where it's needed, not where it isn't. This system promotes faster moisture evaporation, while also reducing chafing.
Craft finished off the Storm bib tights with reflective elements at the front and rear, as well as knee-length zippers for ease of both layering and accommodating over-sized booties.
