Crank Brothers Power Pump Pro Travel Bike Pump -
If you're looking for an alternative to CO2 cartridge, the Crank Bros. Power Pump Ultra is it.The pump itself isn't much larger than a CO2 inflator, and the alloy-bodied pump can reach road bike pressures reasonably quickly and easily thanks to the high-pressure/high-volume switch.

  • Fits in a jersey pocket for quick rides, and will fit in some saddle bags.
  • Fits presta and schrader valves.

  • Start off using the high volume setting to get your tires filled up quickly, then switch to the high pressure setting to get the tires up to the appropriate pressure with minimal effort.

  • 115 PSI.
  • Smallest pump with pressure gauge.

Works well on the trails

This is the second crank bros pump I purchased as a back up to the same one I have carried on my rides for the last 6 years that still works great. I have not tried using this pump on tubeless yet but for tubed tires, it has worked well out on the trails. Two drawbacks on this pump is its inability to inflate at high psi and the small handle. I run my mtn bike tires at 45 psi and the best I could inflate a new tube to is 40 psi, which is good enough to get me through the ride. Nothing is worse than having to walk it in a middle of a 30 mi ride. The small handle requires you to wear out your arms inflating a tire but that is the compromise for the compact, weight-saving feature for this pump. This pump does have a high volume and a high pressure switch but you really need to pump very fast to inflate at higher pressure. The pump works for both the presta and standard valves. The dial works on the pump but I have never relied on it for an accurate read. Cleaning can be easy rinsing in running water or thorough by unscrewing everything on the pump by hand, no tools needed. I would trust this pump for emergencies on the trails but I would not rely on it as your primary pump for everyday riding or tires requiring high presssure.

Not So Great

The pump was very small...that's its only virtue. It did not seal around stem with Schrader valves, kept slipping loose. Pump action seemed adequate other than it would not inflate a tube.
