CRK My Tighe Knife

I recently purchased this knife to add to our collection. We own several
CRK knives and have been pleased with them The My Tighe is a assisted
opening blade of good construction and quick action. It has just enough
weight to make it balanced in the hand. I have large hands and like a
knife that has some heft to it. The blade is well-ground and of average
thickness. A higher grade of steel or Damascus would push this blade to
a 5. My son is presently replacing the rather cheap plastic overlay on
the case with a rich rosewood. At least CRK still uses screws to fasten
the overlays and not rivets. The addition of the wood will make a great
improvement in the presentment. Take note CRK-this would not be a bad
stock option. Wood never loses its charm. Real stag/bone would be
another option. I purchased the razor edge. I like the keen edge and
clean lines of this blade. My CRK hunting knife has a serrated edge. I
also have a Gator Serrator for quick work of tendons. I wish Cold Steel
would come out with a heavy, quick opening blade in a lockback. The
only other addition to the CRK would be a lockback, but the thumblock
is strong and well-centered. This is a good knife to own, and the sale
price was comparable to other web-based stores. Good job to the folks
at CABELAS on this offer.

MyTighe Knife

I find this knife another one of CRKT's great knives. With the assisted opening feature it makes it a good knife to have around when you might need a knife that you can open with one hand. Those times when you are rock climbing,or other activities where both hands aren't always available to work the knife,it is a blessing to be able to start to open the blade manually, and to have it open the rest of the way with help of the spring inside the handle.THIS IS NOT A SWITCHBLADE KNIFE !! It does not open / close all by itself !! And for those that are worried about this,it is possable to remove the spring with a small torx screwdriver, but keep the screw in the slot for those times you might want to put the spring back in. This is a good knife that will do the job you ask it to do,and not ruin your wallet.

my tighe

I just purchased the crkt mt tighe serrated knife. Cabelas shipped to me a day earlier than expected which was awesome. The knife is very nice. Very sturdy and strong feeling. The picture on the website dihonors the knife a little. The serrations are wrong in the picture, they arent that standard cut serration they look more like sharks teeth, and are much nicer in my opinion. The assisted opening is nice and easy to use although there is some slight vibration when opened, no big deal. All in all this is a great all purpose utlity knife and would recomend it to anyone.

Nice feel

Have had the "My Tighe" knife for a few weeks. Has performed in and around the house quite well. I use it as my primary knife day in and day out. I like the weight of this knife since I can tell if its not with me. Opens well with a nice lock. I bought the serrated edge. Not overly enthused about the size of the serration. That would be the only change I might make.
