Current Designs Vision 130 Comp Kayak -

Featuring low weight, smooth lines and a feel that will make you one with the ocean, the Current Designs Vision 130 Comp kayak is a responsive boat that's designed for the smaller paddler.

Imported.

Fabric:

  • Swede-form construction enhances speed and maneuverability, and it allows bow to punch through waves instead of riding up and over them
  • Unusually lightweight, strong and stiff, the Vision 130 features a hybrid construction of fiberglass and a polyaramid (the same material found in Kevlar®)

Padding:

  • To prevent numbness, seat pan features a contoured space for lower vertebrae and is covered with plush, nonabsorbent, very thick padding

Insulation:

  • Seat back moves up and down and back and forth, and it articulates to move with your paddling motion
  • Locking mechanism prevents both side-to-side and up-and-down motion

Weather and Wind:

  • Shallow-V hull enhances tracking and offers friendly stability and a lively feel in the water; low decks minimize wind resistance

Sizing:

  • 13 ft. length offers tracking and maneuverability, and 24 in. width provides stability

Comfort:

  • Keyhole-shape cockpit is easy to enter and exit, and integrated foam thighbraces on interior coaming increase comfort when bracing or carving turns
  • Seat creates a natural, comfortable paddling position by tilting the entire seat pan up and away from cockpit floor

Straps:

  • Bow hatch features rubberized cover and an additional hard cover with straps to protect contents from splashes

Features:

  • Vacuum-bagged composite lamination eliminates excess resin, which improves strength and reduces weight to a mere 40 lbs.
  • Bow, stern and center bungee deck rigging securely store extra gear on top
  • Bulkheaded bow and stern hatches provide dry cargo storage during paddles and enhance flotation when hatches are sealed
  • Use the lever-lock knob—similar to a quick-release fork on a bike wheel—to set the seat pan to the desired height
  • Sliding bar adjusts foot pegs without having to get out and reach inside cockpit
  • Toggled carry handles ease transport of the 40 lb. Current Designs Vision 130 Comp kayak to the water
  • Offering superb performance and a confidence-inspiring feel, the Current Designs Vision 130 Comp kayak is slightly more nimble than its 15 ft. counterpart
  • Rear hatch provides enough storage for an overnight trip and features an easy-to-use, rubberized hatch cover

Fast and full of features

This is a very fast boat! It moves through the water very efficiently and tracks very good for such a short boat. It is a great compromise between space, load capacity, speed and manuverablity.

The seat has to be one of the best features. It adjust in many directions and feels very good. the adjustable foot rests and padding make getting your legs comfortable easy. The holds will swallow more gear than I would need to haul for a multi day trip and the boat just looks awesome.

This kayak is not what I would consider a begineers kayak. It lacks a certian amount of initial stablility that is found with the cheap plastic boats you will find a Wal-mart. It is narrower and the the hul is not as flat. This will take a little bit of time to get used to, but after you learn how much you can lean the boat, it is very enjoyable.

I've had mine on the water about 4 times now in the last two weeks, it feels like the boat I was meant to paddle. It is easy to portage, store and transport. I find it easy to get in and out of, and the cockpit seems to have plenty of room once inside. I just can't seem to find anything to say this isn't the best boat I have ever been in. I'm very happy with my purchase.
