The stretchy and super-breathable Cutter Tech Knickerbocker saddles up when your ride isn’t quite spandex-worthy and flies under the style-radar when you’re not in the saddle. These ergonomically-fitted softshell knickers fend off light moisture and won’t restrict movement while you pedal. The Tech Knickerbocker’s ¾-length cut stays clear of your cuff-tearing chainring and the articulated fit pulls functional duty in the saddle, minus the fresh-from-the-Tour look when you meet your crew at the bar. Lock your U-lock in the Tech Knickerbockers back pocket snap for a safe ride downtown, and thank the Polartec Power Shield softshell material for its weather-shunning radness as it starts to drizzle on your way home from the bar. Should you take the occasional tuck and roll across the pavement, Polartec Hardface Technology has you covered with outstanding durability.

So far I've put in about 15 days on the Cutter Tech Knickerbocker and I don't have a single negative thing to say about them. They hardly look like they've been worn. So pilling, abrasions, or other signs of wear.

I've these knicks for a little over a month now. This morning they finally got their first wet weather test, and I'm pleased to say they exceeded my expectations. It was a typical Seattle fall drizzle on my ride to work, and the water beaded up and rolled right off even better than my rain jacket (which is admittedly overdue for a treatment.

Simply outstanding | |

First, don't get these for racing, they're not skintight spandex®. These are incredibly comfortable, soft, just stretchy enough and exceedingly water-resistant. I rode through some pretty nasty wetstuff in New Hampshire this summer and no matter how wet the trails got, the water just beaded off. I suspect that a major downpour would get them soaked, but I further guess that they'd dry really quickly. The workmanship and styling is great: I wore them out for brunch and mini-golf with the family. I'm not a pockets-on-my-gear kind of guy, so the numerous storage possibilities on them are a minor downside for me. But, that's a personal preference. I don't like giving away secrets, but Cutter® is too cool to keep hidden in my closet. Get these! They rock.

Great knickers | |

I love these. I don't want everyone to buy them out, but I can't keep my mouth shut on them, either. They ride very comfortably, shed water very well and whatever moisture they do pick up dries quickly. The styling is great, too. I went from a long ride in the mountains to breakfast out with the fam. and then mini-golf in them. Sure, I didn't smell very good at the end of 18 holes, but I looked damn fine in these knickers (manpris, as my friends call them). They're pretty sweet and you should buy them. Size-wise, they ran pretty true: I've got a 34"waist and the mediums are spot-on. If I gain a little weight, they'll stretch with me, if I lose a little weight, well, maybe I'll get a belt: oh, they've got belt-loops. The only downside, and it's minor, is that there are too many pockets. I'm not a pocket-guy on the bike.

So it has been such a rainy summer, and I was tired of getting soaked to the bone. I was also worried about ruining my wallet and my cell phone so I decided to splurge and try these. $100 for a pair of cycling knickers is more than I can usually spend, but I figured it was less than the cost of a new phone.

Super sweet knicker, a little tight in the thigh
| Rating: | ![]() |
I know not everyone has quads like Captain America, but if you do, these probably won't work for you. They are one of the most impressive pieces of gear I've seen out there (and I've seen a lot), but they were just too tight on my thighs. I bought the XL, because I'm right between a 38 and 40 waist, and the waist fit fine. I have fairly muscular legs, and the bottoms of these were actually tight around my calves as well, leaving the only parts that actually fit as my waist and knees. This was funny to me as I've had two knee surgeries in the last year, and my knees are still swollen pretty regularly. At any rate, this is an incredibly nice piece of equipment if your legs tend more towards aspen than sequoia.

wet weather riding - softshell pants, softshell shorts, - the knicker

commuting in wet weather can be fun, but you need the right gear. i rarely run around in lycra, always use an over short for abrasion, and to just feel..... normal.

NIce fabric | |

I like the four way stretch fabric and the weight. Overall, nice cycling knickers for cool weather. I'm 6' 0" and got the medium size. These could stand to be an inch or two longer and an inch narrower around the calf. They tend to want to ride up over my knees, defeating the purpose of knickers. I'm not sure I understand all the pockets. There's one which seems to be for a phone or iPod but there's no closure so the device could fall right out. I would recommend these but probably only for people with shorter legs.

Honestly, these are great

Just got these & rode them to work today. They are not like the other knickers that I have. The subtle style is great. Also these are very comfy to ride in! I am really not into the standard bike short for the shorter rides. These fit well. I am 5'11 & 175. I don't prefer a super tight fit, so I went with the size Large. They are "stretchy" so one could go with the Med if you wanted that "tight" style. Also, these have an "ergo" cut to them that makes them a pleasure to pedal in.

the best mountain bike pant

my shorts are long, and are made of a woven material that does not stretch. every pedal stroke i feel the drag of my shorts, the friction. These knickers are the best - stretch woven is best of both worlds - stretchy and 95 % windproof, but durable enough to take the inevitable hit. waters beads off, as well as dirt. i rock a belt in these to keep them in place, there is not gripper elastic or anything weird, just belt loops.

These are ok. | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I have been riding these for about a month now and I have found them to be ok. They are super strechy and feel good under the butt while riding, but I do not like the pockets on these. The leg pockets are only held down by velcro and flap around in the wind, also the upper pockets holes are too big. They also feel funny around the legs when I am not riding and make me look kind of like I am waring a diaper (its the big pocket opening). Overall they do the job, but I see my self grabing for the other brands I have first, that do not cost $150. (swobo, raceface, woolies, etc.) I purchased the (M) and I usualy ware between a 32-34" waist. Hope this helps.

nice but not long enough
| Rating: | ![]() |
I like the fabric and the weight and could be happy with these knickers if only they were longer. My problem is that I'm thin and six feet tall. The medium (which is a little large for my 32 waist size) isn't long enough to stay comfortably below my knees. The fabric rides up to where my knees are exposed more than they should be in a cold breeze. Needs to be about three inches longer.
