A Fine Muzzleloader!

I ordered this not really knowing what to expect but soon learned I had made a good decision. I always optically center any scope before mounting it and did the same with the 3x9 Leupold I put on the CVA. When I bore sighted it, I couldn't believe my eves because it looked like it needed no adjustment at all. My first shot was at 25 yards and it was slightly to the right. I then went to 50 yards and again, slightly to the right. I moved out to 100 and still was slightly to the right and a little low. I made the corrections to the scope and then shot a 3 shot group at 100 yards. This group and three others, were all 2 inches and under. I haven't tried to develop a load at all, just put in 100 grains of ffg with a maxiball. I don't know how good these are supposed to shoot but I'm happy, and have seen several high dollar centerfire rifles that would not shoot as well as this muzzle loader. The near perfect alignment of the scope mount that came with it might be a accident, I don't know, but my gun is hitting where I want, with the scope about 4 clicks of elevation off center and perhaps 8 clicks on the windage. To me, that is impressive! CVA used to be known for cheap products of questionable quality but I honestly believe they have turned this around.
Thanks CVA, for building me a rifle that I'm proud to own and thanks Cabela's, for letting me own it a a price unmatched anywhere!

Negative Reviews:

CVA Optima/without scope

Black power gun seems very good and good group BUT the scope rings are junk. Just got it sighted in and found the scope moved. I tried to tighten the screws back up but could not. I just ordered base mounts and rings from Weaver they are good. I send CVA a email but that will not do any good as most could care less. Time will tell if CVA stand behind there junk rings.
