CWX Pro 3/4 Tight -
The CW-X Women's ¾ Length Pro Tights are like Marty McFly's DeLorean. They take a typical base layer and add impressive technology to create a high-performance tight that propels you into the future of running gear. CW-X's Tuned Conditioning Web material supports your muscles and dampens vibration to reduce fatigue and increase efficiency. Like McFly's DeLorean, the ¾ Length Pro Tights sound unbelievable, but they work and they work well. The ¾ Length Pro Tight adds improved support throughout the joints and major muscle groups, and also supports the lower back and hips to help keep your posture honest. While all of these technological improvements seem pretty intense, the first thing you'll notice about the ¾ Length Pro Tight is how comfortable it is, thanks to Coolmax fabric and dialed anatomic design. These futuristic CW-X running tights' fabric is much more comfortable than the DeLorean's interior.

Fabric:

  • 80% Nylon / 20% LYCRA 2-way stretch Support Web: Multidirectional stretch fabric exoskeleton supports specific muscles and joints of the legs

  • Key pocket and double-reinforced waistband with flat draw-chord

Features:

  • UPF 50+ for UVA/UVB protection
  • 80% COOLMAX / 20% LYCRA 4-way stretch body fabric: Helps to keep the body cool and dry, pulls moisture away from the body and carries it to the outside of the tight

The CW-X 3/4 Pro Tight unites the major joints of the leg to offer optimum muscular support for activities with linear movement, such as running and Nordic skiing. The patented CW-X Support Web™ brings the hips, knees and ankles into proper alignment, reducing impact and load to the legs. The CW-X Support Web™ also creates a suspension system for the hamstrings and quadriceps, reducing workload in both the pull and push phase of the running motion. Combined with targeted variable compression to increase circulation and reduce fatigue, your muscles don’t have to work as hard over time and your legs will feel fresher. 80% nylon/20% Lycra® four-way stretch fabric. Imported. PLEASE NOTE: Image shown is two-tone, so the webbing can be seen. Tights are actually solid black.

Positive Reviews:

Superb running tight/capri - I am a recreational runner (less than 10 miles a week). I suppose I don't really need performance gear, but thought I'd try these anyway. This tight is all it claims to be! Exceptional support with construction that actually DOES decrease muscle fatigue and soreness. I bought my first pair of tights, wore them for a run since I had just gotten them, and had a really "good" run, not considering why that may have been. Later I realized the difference was the tights. I ran further, faster and was less tired after. Now I will not run without them. I have the regular tights, the winter insulated version and just purchased the capris for warmer weather. I think they are very expensive, but they feel so good and help so much, they are truly worth the price. My original pair also seems to be holding up well. I wash in the machine with everything else, but "line dry" them. I highly recommend this product.

Great 3/4 tight for running!

I am very happy with the compression components of the tights. The only things I wish were different are the length - it's a great length, but it does bunch behind the knees, and that gets a little uncomfortable. I am 5'9", so I debated between a Large or a Medium. I got the Large. I am happy with the overall fit, as I think the Medium would have been too small, but I don't like the knee bunching! The other thing I wish it has was a good size zip pocket for gels, sports beans, etc. These are tights for endurance runners, but nowhere to put your gels? Doesn't make sense...

Don't be scared when you pull these out of the bag -- they look way too small, but they do give enough for you to be able to wiggle them on. Once there they work great -- I don't get the knee pain I experience when I'm running without them. I had a bad experience with the CW-X Stabilyx tights because the space for the knee didn't line up right with my kneecap, so it actually ended up irritating it terribly. This tight, however, isn't that exacting about position, but still offers tons of support. Great for running, and know it will be great for snowboarding, too.

Definitely worth the money; helps support the back and (how to say this politely?) booty area, and since I am not slim in the upper thigh, this area also. Makes a huge difference in distance runs; like running in a well-made, stylish girdle. I definitely feel less leg fatigue and think the knee support is helpful. The fit is tight, but the fabric is thick so it isn't unflattering. My only tiny criticism is that the tightness of the fabric makes them very susceptible to snagging; would not recommend these for trail running, just because they are so expensive getting a hole in them is somewhat traumatic.

Best Running tights!

The tights feel a "half size too small" but are really supposed to be that way. The tights offer excellent support to all major muscle groups, and the 3/4 length adds knee support but keeps you cool in the warmer months. Great lower back and core support, too! Only problem was after about half a dozen wears, the seam on the inner thigh ripped about an inch and a half down. Hopefully easy to fix, but even so, I would definately recommend these to the endurance runner!!

The CW-X 3/4 length Pro Tights are awesome and worth the investment for anyone serious about being active. I actually used them for a chilly spring mountain bike ride and they kept me warm and supported. They are pretty darn tight to get on, but the support is worth the shimmy into them (I suggest no witnesses when getting dressed!). Make sure the knee cap fits just above the x-shape on the lower leg and you are in the right size.

OMG. I thought I was going to faint from the heat while wearing these tights! They were very difficult to get on. I ordered medium, which is the right size for me. On the upside, they are very well made; outstanding quality. I own several pairs of CW-X tights. However, I will keep these Pro Tights for the fall and winter. I should be pounds lighter by then too, so they won't be so unbearably tight.

These run small!

I got a pair of these to help support my knees during spin class. The fit is so supportive that it takes a little time to get used to (and a little time to get into as well). My biggest issue with them is taking them off and washing them since I am now unable to spin, do pilates or run without them. I am glad that I looked at their sizing chart before purchasing!

Great for Hamstring Support

As a division 1 college sprinter returning from a hamstring injury, having a lot of support is extremely important. I bought these tights and loved them so much, I also bought the full length ones for colder workouts. I would recommend these to anyone who is training with or susceptible to hamstring injuries.

I have the full-length tights for the winter, and now I love the 3/4 length for the summer. These tights offer great support to my quads and hamstrings. It just feels like they keep everything together and make the jiggle disappear. I am a true believer in CW-X!

Negative Reviews:

I was excited to see these on sale, as I've had my eye on them for skiing but the regular price was a bit steep. They came very quickly and I immediately tried them on in my kitchen before I even got my jacket off!! I was SHOCKED at how small they were. I'm 5'1" 95lbs and I wear size 00P or 25 pants and the XS was FAR too tight. I knew that they were supposed to be snug but I couldn't wear these for more than a few minutes. Had to return them :( I'm bummed Backcountry doesn't have any size smalls right now.
My advice, order a size up.

Runs smaller than Expert Tight

This tight seems to be sized smaller than the "Expert" version while the addition of structure detailing should help fatique. I would like to send an updated review after losing 10lbs.
