Daiwa Aird Spinning Rod Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

A great spinning rod, but

The daiwa aird spiinning rod is my second rod. It has a great sensivity, casts well, but the guides are extremely awful. I have used the rod for one season and now i have to change the guides, because the top guide has some defects, which appeared while I was using the rod. I wish daiwa used some better guides for example fuji-sic. They could be better, than such primitive stain steel guides.

Light Rod

I fish for small mouth bass on the Umpqua and John Day Rivers in Oregon. I fish from a personal pontoon boat so weight is a major factor in my decision when purchasing equipment to use on the river. This rod is very light but flexible to fish with a variety of plastics and spinners. I use the Cabela's Guide real with the rod.

Great rod

The sensitivity of this rod is amazing, Paired with Powerpro line, I can easily feel the tiniest movements of my crankbaits.
The rod is crazy light as well, very low fatigue. And paired with my orange okuma reel, it looks great. I only wish for the price, it had guide inserts instead of just polished steel. But for a daiwa, I am impressed.

Negative Reviews:

Avoid Aird

This rod is light and looks nice but the MH model I received was not perfectly straight and the minimalist stainless steel guides seem like they'd be better on a lighter rod. Fishing with the rod is unremarkable and for me the split grip handle was too small. It may be more comfortable for women or kids. This rod costs too much for what you get, especially since it has a 1 year warranty (a detail not communicated on this or Daiwa's web site). The aird reel that goes with this rod is a different color than the rod so I also didn't get the color coordinated outfit that I thought would be cool.
