Super smooth
I bought the 1500 for bluegill and I'm very impressed. I also bought a Shimano Sahara 2500 at the same time for the same fishing. Been fishing about 6 times and can say that the Diawa is smoother, quieter and has a much better bail than the Shimano. Even though the Shimano is bigger, the smaller Diawa reels in fish easier. The Shimano is harder to reel with a fish on. I'm now a Diawa fan.
Solid Spinning Reel
I found the reel performed very well and was able to handle the walleyes I caught with ease. The reel has a smooth drag and a solid feel. I would buy another.
