Sweet reels

Ive got them in all sizes and they are super nice. If your complaining they aren't metal you might just need to get a bigger setup as these have handled tons of bass and saltwater fish as well. The drag is super smooth and the anti-twist actually keeps my braid from getting twist and wind knots even with really light baits.

Daiwa Aird (not Arid)

Very smooth out of the box. I gave it a "4" due to some minor cosmetic issues but I like the deeper spare spool that provides a wider range of line weights. Lots of nice features found in more expensive reels. But I wish it had a metal body...

Negative Reviews:

This is one of the worst gear purchases I have ever made. I regret making my decision without actually handling this reel first. The reel is light and the extra spool is a good idea. The operation of the reel isn't special and after catching a fish the reel started making a grinding sound. I have a Daiwa Takara and the only difference I see between the two reels are that the Aird uses plastic and composite parts where the Takara uses metal. The Aird is more than twice the cost of a Takara and the Takara is smoother and stronger. There are a lot of better options on the market for the price of the Aird.
