Daiwa Regal Xia Spinning Reel

I bought two of these reels on sale from Cabela's. Placed order on Jan. 1'st. they arrived Jan. 6'th. Amazing considering the really bad weather across the country the first week of January this year. They arrived in perfect condition. Read a couple reviews about bail spring failure on these reels so I immediately checked lubrication of the bail trip mechanism when they arrived. Sure enough, they both needed a touch of grease. Past experience has taught me to check lubrication on any new reel before using it. Reminds me of the ketchup gun at the local fast food restaurant. You get ketchup on your burger but not necessarily the right amount or in the right place. Cast great and retrieval is as smooth as silk. appears to be well built and I look forward to years of service now that they are properly lubricated. very satisfied with my purchase and the service from Cabela's.

I own 4 and use them in both fresh and saltwater. I rinse them immediately after EVERY salt water use (as soon as I get to the house - twice a day if needed) AND overhaul them after every salt water trip. Had them 4 years now, and NEVER had a bail spring break (knock on wood). If you are breaking bail springs I suggest you lubricate routinely and ALWAYS open and close the bail by hand. Never use the reel crank to close to the bail. It puts way too much pressure on the bail spring. These are my #1 go to spinning reels!

Very smooth. An added bonus was the extra spool that came with it. Only time will tell if it holds up, but it seems to be very well constructed. I'm pleased with my purchase. Shipping was prompt and packaging was excellent. It had bubble wrap around the box for extra protection.
