Dale of Norway Aktiven Masculine Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

It's all about the "tightness" or "looseness" of the Knit/Weave... I found out the hard way...i.e. shipping sweaters back and forth and waiting a long time to receive the exchange. Anyway, here's what I found out by trial and error. The Henningsvaer sweater has a bigger, wider, looser weave so it stretches quite a bit. I have a 43" chest and the Dale Of Norway size chart indicates that I should wear a large. Not so. When I received the large it was huge on me. The sleeves stretched about 4 " past my wrist and the bottom hem stretched about 8" below my waist. I'm only 5'9" but large is usually my size with no problems. So I sent those two sweaters back and I'm now waiting for mediums. Remember, it's all about the size and tightness of the weave so you have to enlarge the pictures and really take a good look at the texture of the sweaters. The Dale Of Norway Aktiven Masculine has the opposite type weave The weave is very small and tight and the sweater fits like a shirt. So use the size chart for ordering this sweater. I ordered medium and it was too small. I returned it and I'm waiting for a large. Lastly, the St. Moritz Masculine seems to have a weave somewhere in between the two sweaters listed above. It's not as loose as the Henningsvaer but it's not as tight as the Aktiven although it's closer to the Activen than the Henningsvaer. So, it's a catch 22. I ordered the medium in the St. Moritz. I haven't received it yet but I'm hoping it fits well and I don't have to exchange it. Hope this review was helpful. Mick H.

I wasn't going to buy an Aktiven sweater because it is a lot like my Slata and a few others. But then it came out red, and just happens to match the red leather of one of my cars. The zip neck helps keep wind off the back of my neck when zipping around town top down. This sweater is a nice weight for indoors, or layered with a soft shell outdoors when cold. Great quality as well. Dale of Norway merino sweaters are meant to fit snug, so check sizes carefully.

Very nice sweater. Great Zappos service. Found a stitching defect in the arm sleeve after having worn it a few times since Christmas. Zappos customer service offered to replace or exchange. None left in my size, I like the sweater enough to have seam repaired on my own. Suggest inspecting a Dale sweater closely upon receipt. XL is perfect snug on 5'11" 210lb reasonably muscular frame. Perfect length. As mentioned before, great base over t shirt. Many compliments.
