Dansko Pro XP -
How to improve on a classic? Lighten it up without compromising professional comfort and performance, as with the Dansko Pro XP clog. Part of the APMA-accepted Dansko XP Collection, which features lighter construction than the classic Stapled line, this men's closed-back clog has an easy-care, work-friendly leather upper with a comfortable padded instep and high toe box that provides ample wiggle room. The cored, polyurethane midsole offers cushioned comfort, while a metal shank at the midfoot provides energy and stability. The removable, dual-density EVA/memory foam insole and SATRA-tested rubber outsole ensure rocking comfort, superior energy return and sure-footed safety during your busy work schedule in the Dansko Pro XP professional clog. Fit tip: This clog should fit snugly at the instep, with room for toes to wiggle freely, and loosely in the back so that the heel moves up and down as you walk (a pinkie finger should fit between your heel and the shoe).
Your heel should lift up and down with every step, so if you are a half size, you may be more comfortable sizing up (for example, if you are a US 7.5, you may be more comfortable in an EU size 38).
Dansko's flagship classic for all-day support and unmistakable style has taken on a critical roll of providing comfort to those in the nursing, hospitality and other occupational fields.
Available in a variety of high quality leather uppers that follow the natural contours of the foot.
Box leather is ideal for the workplace environments with wet, acidic or greasy conditions. It has a smooth, clean finish with the natural irregularities removed. It is the easiest leather to maintain, and can be wiped clean with soap and water.
Instep collar is generously padded.
Roomy Thermoplastic toe box provides durable reinforcement and toe protection while allowing toes to move comfortably.
Non-allergenic vegetable tanned leather sockliner wrapped around synthetic foam absorbs and evaporates perspiration.
Protective Polyethylene heel counter allows the heel to move up and down when walking. Also provides lateral stability and acts as a natural shoe horn.
PVC inner frame provides stability and reduces torque and pronation.
Polyurethane outsole provides shock absorption and flexibility, withstands surfaces of extreme heat and cold, and protects feet, legs and back during long hours of standing or walking.
Rocker bottom propels the foot forward when walking.
Dansko Stapled clog outsoles are designed to be suitably slip-resistant in workplace environments where excesses of vegetable oils and animal fats are present. Slip-resistant tests have been carried out by SATRA, the world's leading research and technology organization for the footwear industry.
Dansko's Stapled Clog Collection proudly carries the Seal of Acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Dansko Pro XP Reviews:

I purchased Dansko Pro Xp's based on my doctor's recommendation. Unfortunately, there were no retailers within 200 miles that stocked them, so I could not try them on before buying. I have bought shoes in European sizes before, but it seems that different styles and brands tend to fit differently, and my feet are in between the whole sizes available from Dansko. Size 45 is too short, but size 46 is loose allowing too much movement of my feet, causing blisters. The heel slippage is fine and causes no discomfort. I'm trying thicker socks and insoles, and seem to be having some luck with improving the fit. I probably own at least 25 different pair of shoes, and they all fit differently. I would be really enthusiastic about these if they were a half-size smaller. This was my first experience with Zappos, and I have truly never been more impressed with online customer service from any company. I'm already planning my next Zappos purchase.

These are some pretty comfy shoes. I work a job that requires me to be on my feet all day and my feet would ache after every shift. That never happens anymore. When I first got the shoes I was worried I wouldn't like them because they actually did hurt my feet. It took a few weeks for these shoes to get broken in but now they are great. Only problem is they aren't the most stylish shoes but I just don't care since my feet don't hurt anymore!

I got these shoes to help my plantar fascitis, and they worked great! Within a couple of days I had significant improvement (maybe coincidence, but I think it was the shoes). They do have to be broken in like dress shoes, and the heel is slightly narrow, making them not the most stable shoe if you mis-step. The fit over the top of the foot is very snug and takes getting used to if you are not a regular clog wearer.
