I'm a big fan of Darn Tough socks, and these ski socks are no exception. The seamless toe design is a nice touch and the padded shin is also comfy in my Scarpa Mobe boots. The real selling point on these is the merino though. I'm no fabric expert but I'm probably more picky about socks than any other piece of gear and Darn Tough has convinced me that not all merino is created equal. They never make me itchy and they are very long wearing socks. Between the BC return policy and Darn Toughs guarantee you have nothing to lose by trying them... except maybe all your other socks when the DT's spoil you.
I also dig that they're made in Vermont!
I'm an 11.5 or 12 and The XL fits perfectly.
These are the 5th pair of socks I have from Darn Tough. Love them all. I bought these because I finally put a hole in my favorite snowboard socks. Bought these in the black/blue colorway, and they are super comfy. Combined with my new-ish boots, my feet are sooooo comfy. Four stars only because although they are plenty warm, I wish they were just a scosche thicker. Now I have to try and destroy these to see if they live up to the name! I am going to order more of these as money allows. True to size. Buy with confidence!
I feel like this sock grips my calf the most out of any of my ski socks, Ive had a few pairs over the years and it takes a while for them to lost their elasticity. The real amazing thing however I noticed the other day. I stuck my ski boot in a creek and filled it with cold water. The merino stayed warm the entire time and I never even felt my toes get cold! I stayed walking for another hour or so until I got to the car and still no sense of cold, truly amazing.
These are one of the best midweight ski socks available. The attention to detail with the padded shins helps keep my boot bang at a tolerable pain level. Cool looking design and color pattern keep them interesting. I use these down to about 5 degree temperatures on the slopes and they keep my feet pretty warm.
Alpine, Park, AT, work, these socks have been run through the ringer by me and my wife and neither of us have worn them out. I can not same the same for some other socks we've tried and killed.
Darn Tough's hiking socks are the bomb as well.
Super sweet socks these Darn Tough's These new ski socks are nicer than the ones I bought a few years ago that are still holding up. These guys really make the best socks
Great Socks. Toes are warm, padding in all the right places, seem durable. Seamless design is great.
I picked up these socks for riding and also for winter fishing. They are warm and comfy as Merino should be. Just the trick for the river. However, when I ride with these they tend to slip down my leg which can be frustrating. They are tall enough to go over the calf, however could use a little more elasticity in my opinion
