I LOVE THIS KNIFE!!!

I am a full-time live-aboard power boater.
BUT: In the summer I help out aboard some of the old "antique" (they don't like to be called that) large sailing vessels. The Tall Ships they call them. Most are a minimum of three, if not three plus a spanker in the way of masts. It usually takes a crew of 25 to raise full sail. And it's a beautiful sight!!!

Good knife for the money

I was nervous about buying this knife at first because it is only [$] But it is pretty solid and has a nice feel in the hand. Knife is pretty sharp and it seems to do the job fine.

Just what I needed.

We trailer our sailboat and put it up and down each time. It makes unlocking tight shackels and tight knots easier. Simple without all those extras that are hard to open or you don't need.

Marlin Spike

This is our second one - 1st one ended up at the bottom of the lake! Thinking of buying an extra one "just in case"

I'm happy with my purchase

The marlin spike serves well in untying knots, blade is sharp. overall a good product.

Negative Reviews:

Meh

This knife/spike are cheap because of its limited uses due to small size, and lack of serrated edge on the knife for any line you want to cut.

fulfills my requirements

I was looking for a replacement knife that I could abuse the heck out of. This knife seems to do the trick. I use the knife for anything from cutting line to scrapping paint. I was able to put a pretty good edge on the knife. The shackel key is useless and it could have been left off. The screwdriver tip has been useful along with the marlin spike.
