Day 6 Outdoors Day 6 Plotwatcher Pro -
The PlotWatcher Pro has ten times more battery life than the original PlotWatcher. The best battery life of any time-lapse camera on the market. Unlike trail cameras that trigger on short-range motion, the PlotWatcher Pro captures images of an area at specified time intervals regardless of how far the subject is from the camera. The greater field of view allows hunters to see animal travel patterns that would otherwise go undetected. With this ability, you can preview an area and make an educated decision about when and where to hunt. Images can be taken as fast as on per second from dawn until dusk, producing a HD video. With time-lapse video you can review a 12-hour day of activity in 2-3 minutes. Setup is easy. Insert a SD card (up to a 32GB). Turn on the PlotWatcher Pro and it’s ready to scout. 2-1/2" LCD screen provides simple on-board camera setup, video aiming and camera status messages. Temperature and moon-phase info shown on each image. Security-cable ready. Accepts add-on zoom lens. Includes GameFinder Software with MotionSearch that makes viewing your videos easy. Scroll frame by frame or view at the desired replay speed. Forward and reverse features let you review specific segments of video over and over again. The program also helps you build and share a library of HD video clips and pictures. Operates on eight AA batteries (not included).

Awesome product

Best product ever for scouting. If you're looking for a camera to inventory the animals that visit your feeder in the middle of the night, then this isn't your best bet. If you're looking for a way to scout an area, there's no better way than sitting there all day yourself.
While you might not be able to identify individual deer day after day, you can certainly pattern the animals that are using your selected location. That helps you hunt a lot smarter than will the knowledge that there is a particular deer that eats out of your feeder at 3:00 am.
Crazy long battery life and great software to view your images. Looks like all the bugs from the 1st generation camera have been worked out.
Would be great for surveillance as well if you have an area that you want to keep tabs on. As long as there is enough light for you to see, this camera will take an image that you can use. I know because I have a nice photo of the youngster who was breaking into my cabin and it was clear enough for the authorities to use to identify him.

Outstanding Product

I have been using this PlotWatcher Pro for two months now and it is everything they claim it is. I have been using trail cameras for nine years starting with a home brew. While this is used differently than a trail camera I like the idea of being able to watch a large area at one time. The software that comes with it is awesome. I have been getting a lot of enjoyment out of this unit and I find it very interesting what shows up on it that you may never have known what was lurking about. I have saved individual photos as well as short clips and e-mailed them to my friends. This is a very reliable rugged unit and I will be ordering another soon.

Negative Reviews:

really disapointed

I have had the camera out for five days and could see when and where deer were entering the bean field. I could not however determine weather a deer was a doe or buck and certainly could not identify a particular deer. when you try to zoom in on a deer even one or two power the image is so bad it is of no help at all. I checked the add on lens and the best is just two power and I doubt it would help much at all. If you just want to know when and where then I guess it will work for you but a deer would have to be in range of a trail camera to have an identifiable picture. I am taking mine back. too bad the company does not have a lens or camera that even compares to the one on my phone.
