De Marchi's new PT collection was designed with an obsessive focus on dependable fabrics and fit details. Modeled after its warm-weather Leggera, the PT Jersey uses 100% Italian materials, along with a fit and graphic treatment that was meant to be clean and functional, which creates one of the most structured, body-supporting jerseys available. It's these seemingly small elements, combined with the brand's rich history, that continue to make De Marchi the top apparel choice of discerning cyclists around the world.
For the construction of the PT, De Marchi used its Dry3 Micro fabric for its airy composition and low weight. This material breathes better than most nylon/Lycra blends, and it rapidly transfers moisture away from your skin to its quick-drying outer layer. Combined with these lightweight and thermo-regulating properties, Dry3 Micro also stretches in order to wrap and support your upper body and arm muscles while in the cycling position. By selecting a single fabric for the jersey's entirety, De Marchi was able to create panels that smoothly transition from one to another without any disturbance. This means that the jersey's seams all but disappear, which leads to better aerodynamics than other jerseys relying on several mixed fabric panels.
De Marchi focused equally on implementing lightweight technical fabrics into the PT as it did refining the jersey's fit. The goal of the PT was to create a streamlined jersey with both maximum freedom of movement and the most breathable, lightweight materials available. This anatomical fit was made possible using the company's Contour Technology as a means to stabilize the jersey while in the cycling position. This is accomplished using pre-shaped fabric panels that closely follow the body while in motion. When sewn together, these panels form somewhat of a three dimensional shape on their own, mimicking the body before even reaching your shoulders. The result is a jersey that eliminates all unnecessary material, leading to the best fit possible.
Equally valued by De Marchi are its finishing details. The PT is no exception, with its thin fully-divisible front zipper, three rear-panel pockets, and oversized high visibility reflective elements throughout. Small, square De Marchi logos tastefully adorn the jersey's front and rear.
The De Marchi PT Jersey - Men's is available in seven sizes from X-Small to XXX-Large and in the colors Black, Blue, Grey Camo, Khaki, Pearl, Pink, and Sky. Please note: De Marchi relies heavily on European sizing, so please make your selection accordingly.
I found the sizing chart to work well for me. My chest was 39" which is on the big size of medium (according to the size chart). The fit is slightly looser then an Assos race cut jersey but tighter then a club cut. The material seems nice and my initial impression is that this will be a great jersey for hot weather. I got the pink jersey and the color in person is much brighter then the pale pink shown in the photo.
This is an extremely soft jersey. looking forward to wearing this on long rides. i sized up and the fit is perfect for me - more of form fit then race fit. no zipper pocket in the back but the usual three pockets for your goodies. The cream is more of a light grey.
looking forward to first spring ride!
I know it mentions this is euro sizing however it is definitely not race fit. Order your normal size and you should be in the clear. The jersey itself is very comfortable and pretty stylish.
I'm 5'10", 145 lbs and ordered the medium, and it is most definitely not a "slim" fit as described. More of a club cut -- pretty loose. I have two other De Marchi jerseys (the Pista and the SL) in medium, and those fit closely. I also wear a medium in Castelli, and I expected this jersey to fit like my other medium De Marchi and Castelli jerseys. I'd say size down if you are used to a Euro fit, or get it in your normal size if you like the looser club fit.
Also, the black PT jersey is a different shade of black (different material) than the black PT bibs, in case you buy the set as I did.
Otherwise, the jersey looks to be well made, especially for the price. I'll probably pick up another color in the future, but a size down.
I do not have a silicone waist band...ㅠㅠ
