Great pack at a good price

Rating:*****
My wife and I looked at a number of kid carriers, including three from Kelty and another from Deuter, and finally settled on the Deuter Kid Comfort III Pack. Though we use the pack primarily for toting our son through the neighborhood, we wanted something with enough storage that we could take him out on the trail. This pack's suspension system is excellent adjusts easily to fit me 6'2 and my wife 5'7 and is more than adequate to carry 40 pounds of kid and gear. The integrated sun roof is handy and makes the pack only a little bulkier than similar-sized packs. Would highly recommend the Deuter Kid Comfort III to anyone looking for more than an around town kid carrier.

An altogether excellent kid carrier pack.

The weight, comfort for parent and child, and backrest on this model stand out among comparable packs. Also, comparable models can have hidden costs in the rain/shade hoods and cargo area that must be purchased separately. These are integrated already in this Deuter KC3. My 9 month old loves our new baby/daddy hiking time, and this pack performs perfectly even for a guy prone to back trouble. I could carry this all day. ...and Yes, it comes with the teddy bear.

Buy this one for the rain cover or the Deuter II for the low profile. Do not buy any others.

This is by far the most superior child carrier out there. I spent over a month searching and researching carriers for my son and I. I wanted to find one that felt like a modern internal frame backpack and this and the Deuter II are the only ones even close. If you plan on having something on your back for more than a mile, I wouldn't recommend any other pack.
