If you're new to road cycling, or have been riding awhile in toe cages, you're probably curious about clipless pedals. Once you get used to them you'll wonder why you hadn't tried them sooner. But to get started, you don't want to break your wallet buying new shoes. Diadora's Women's Sprinter 2 Shoes are an entry-level, clipless-compatible shoe designed for a woman's foot.
Women's feet are generally narrower than men's. Diadora took this into account when constructing the Sprinter 2 and designed the last specific to a woman's foot. The upper is Suprell, which is a synthetic, leather-like fabric that does not stretch -- the uppers stay supportive ride after ride. Additionally, Diadora's Morpho Cage A-M wraps the foot for greater support. Mesh inserts help to move heat and moisture away from your feet. The uppers were built upon a nylon sole with fiberglass reinforcement for stiffness. You'll find that power from your legs transfers more efficiently to the pedals the first time you don them. An internal heel counter was pre-molded to keep you from slipping as you stand to climb or sprint. This works in conjunction with the achilles pad. The EVA insoles resist stretching so that your arches are always supported.
Diadora's Sprinter 2s secure with two hook-and-loop straps. Each strap features a choice of rings for it to thread through. These assist in customizing the fit of the shoes to your feet. The shoes are 2- and 3-hole cleat compatible.
The Diadora Women's Sprinter 2 weighs around 250 grams and is available in whole sizes 37.0 to 43.0. It comes in the color White/black/bright rose.
