Still the same great matches

Rating:*****
The previous reviewer obviously got a bad box. I've never had a problem with Diamond matches. It's been a (strange) family tradition for us each to receive a box of matches in our x-mas stockings.

I prefer the strike anywhere kind myself, but for lighting candles, pilots, and starting bonfires, I keep a box of these handy.

If your matches fall apart or clog up the strike strips then they are bad and should be sent back, every match should strike up first time.

Work well

I concur that the one reviewer must have gotten a "bad batch". I've used these diamond stick matches for years and have always had great luck with them. I just bought a new pack at REI a couple of weeks ago, and they are working fine. They say "Strike Anywhere Matches" on the box, but I've had better luck using the striker pad.

Work well and inexpensive

My family has been using these matches for years and love them. You can also make them waterproof for camping and hiking by coating them with clear fingernail polish. We do up a few, put them in a baggie, and throw them in our backpacks.

Negative Reviews:

poor quality

Rating:*
Considering Diamond's history I thought this would be a good quality product. I purchased a couple of boxes to use around my home which is a dry environment. The strike surfaces on the box are ineffective and they deteriorate quickly. If you have to strike a match a few times the head falls apart as well. It is difficult to get a match to ignite when the box is new, then it becomes near impossible even though the box is still mostly full. These are simply not worth buying or carrying. I miss the old strike anywhere matches
