Diamondback Assault Bike 2014.
Since 1978, the Diamondback brand name has been synonymous with precision, durability and integrity. Diamondback is a brand that built its reputation on top of the line BMX bikes. 30 years later, they are bridging the gap from their high end BMX to high end mountain bikes. Inspired by Diamondback DF5 Pro Factory Rider Billy Lewis, this little ninja is quite simply the best dirt jumping park slaying rig around.
The 2014 Diamondback Assault boasts a 6061-T6 Aluminum frame with a tapered head tube, Mission formed top tube and steel reinforced horizontal BMX dropouts, these frames are stout and fully capable of going big. And weighing in at a respectable 4.5 lbs makes this one of the lighter dirt jump frames on the market.
Rocking a single speed specific horizontal dropout keeps things clean and simple. 69° head and 72° seat angles combined with significantly compact 15.3" chain stays and a 22” sloping top tube make the Assaults easy to throw around and manual for days.
The Assault comes spec’d with a Fox 32 “831” CTD “FIT" fork with 100mm of travel, a 15mm quick release thru axle and is internally adjustable to 110mm or 120mm. This keeps the front end snappy and agile. Tubular chromoly cranks provide a solid jumping platform while the 32h Alienation Skylark front and Deliquent rear rims provide burly landing gear for re-entry. A single rear Shimano M505 hydraulic disc brake with a 6-bolt XT SM-RT76 160mm rotor provide ample stopping power. Diamondback finishes off this package with a Gravity Light stem and 800mm bars and a Diamondback signature Pivotal seat and Alienation Billy Club post.
