Nimble like a 26”, fast and dominant like a 29er, the 27.5” (650b) wheel is here to stay! The 27.5”wheel offers lower rolling resistance and better traction for a smoother ride much like you'd get from the 29”, but with the agility and maneuverability of the smaller 26” wheel. The 27.5 also enables less geometry and suspension travel limitations, and eliminates toe clearance concerns, while increasing stiffness and durability. With all new, custom SL-7 27.5” Double wall wheels, the Axis Pro just might be the perfect machine for you to make your entrance into the 27.5” world.
At the heart of the Axis 27.5 series is the Diamondback Axis 27” Butted 6061-T6 aluminum frame with formed top and down tubes, machined headtube, and forged drop outs with a replaceable hanger. Thru pure simplicity the Axis frame blends uncompromised strength with minimalist good-looks that’ll sure to catch the attention of your fellow trail junkies.
Diamondback is no stranger to assembling the best price-to-performance ratio, which is proven yet again in the Axis Pro. A FOX 32 Float CTD 27.5” fork with 32mm stanchions, 100mm travel, open cartridge, external rebound compression adjustment and lockout, and a 15mm QR thru axle, provides the front end with an answer to any trail condition you may encounter. The Lockout feature allows you to customize the feel of the fork for superior performance in any circumstance. Simply turn the Lockout accordingly, for rigidity on brutal climbs or fast flats, or unlock the fork for rebound when technical descents lye in your very near future.
The Axis Pro 10-speed drivetrain is outfitted with a trusted SRAM set-up that includes X7 group for the front derailleur and shifters, while the rear derailleur is upgraded to X9 for smooth, efficient shifting where it counts the most. SRAM also lends their reliability and top-performance to the crankset, cassette and chain.
For the cockpit, Diamondback went with a customized DB spec’d cockpit, dialed in with a 3D forged 7° rise stem, zero-rise Flat Handlebar, and a 30.9 Micro Adjust seatpost with a DB Race Saddle on top; the perfect equation for days full of epic climbs, white-knuckle descents and technical single trail.
Equipped with Avid Elixir-3 Hydraulic Disc brakes and a 180mm rotor up front and 160mm rotor in the rear, the Axis Pro is suited to take on the most demanding trails. Complimenting the stopping capabilities of the Avid-Elixir-1’s are the grippy Scwalbe Rapid Ralph Evo tires that are certain to give you superior traction and control through any terrain. Climb aboard the Axis Pro and see what the 27.5” wheel is all about!
