Everything a rider wants

I just picked this bike up yesterday at the Manchester CT store. I paid [$] for the whole bike plus the 3 year maintenance plan, which was 54.99. I had been looking around for this bike in an 18 inch frame for at least a month, and I finally found one. The best thing I found also, was that my bike was assembled that morning, which is a huge plus because when it sits there on the floor, people, touch it, sit on it, and it doesn't have a guarenteed working order. Overall, this bike rides amazing. The Shimano EZ fire trigger shifters take a little to get used to if you're used to the handle ones. But everything else, like the disc brakes, the handle bars and the seat are great and it is a seriously smooth ride. This bike came fully assembled and I took it out of the store that same day, yesterday. I plan to use it on offroad trails and some minor trail jumps, bike trails and just riding to get out of the house when I'm bored. Buy this bike, It's totally worth it for amateur, to even serious riders.

Absolutely Awesome Bike

This is a great bike overall. I think that some people are just way to picky and if that is your style or you need to spend a rediculous amount of money to be satisfied, than you should go spend $1,500.00 on a bike, but for the money this bike rocks. It is light, fast, has good components, great frame, looks great, and rides awesome. Okay, so maybe it doesn't come with the most high end components, but they are pretty good and do get the job done, and who says you can't replace things if they break. If you purchase the warranty with it, then you have it made, Awesome Warranty. I LOVE THIS BIKE.

Awesome bike, but...

Be ready to take it to the shop or back to Dicks for the tech to work on. I have one and so does my nephew. Both of our bikes had a bad set of cranks (left side). My nephews bike was replaced and when it happened to me they (Dick's) promptly ordered me a new set of cranks. They actually changed my cranks out to Shimano Alivio cranks after my bike was the 5th bike to come back with the same issue. Verdicts still out on just how good the Alivios are, I've read mixed reviews. Beyond that the bike is great. If nothing else the frame is well worth the money!

Amazing!

I just bought one yesterday. I immediately fell in love with it. I had seen one at another major bike store and was thinking about getting it. But luckily I went to DSG and it is basically THE SAME bike from the other store for about HALF the price. Too bad I bought it in the beginning of winter. Spring can't get here soon enough! Love the nobby tires, ergonomic seat, cool paint job, shifters, and especially the DUAL disc brakes.

As good as a $800 bike

Love this bike. use to be one of those guys to spend thousands on a bike. this bike has taken me through the expert trails were im from and can handle any obstacle. real light in the front which is great for any planks or lips. great for anybody. but for anybody wanting to get into the trails for the first time and get into narly obstacles. Then i'd reccomend this for your first bike

Awesome Recommendation

This bike was recommended to me by a very knowledgeable Dick's Sporting Goods employee and has exceeded all of my expectations so far. I was looking for a mountain bike with disc brakes but did not want to sacrifice other important features and bike quality in my price range. This bike is an excellent value with feature and quality I thought I would have to pay much more for. Excellent bike, awesome value.

Best bike on the market for the money!

Great all around mountain bike. I received some of the best customer service ever from the Asst. Mgr. Mark at the store at 4401 Creekside Ave. in Hoover, Al. However I do not agree with your company policy of not being able to purchase a product over the phone using a credit card. I live 60 miles from the store and it is a real inconvience to a customer in my situation.

Can't be beat for the price

I use my Response anywhere and everywhere. Trails, street riding even thru 6 inches of standing water. Great solid starter bike. I recomend it to everyone starting out in mountain biking. The disc brakes are pretty good. The fork is more than adequate for a beginner. The shifters and derailers are decent equipment as well. The rims are decent as well even though I managed to bend the back axel.

Great Choice

I bought this bike for my boyfriend so we could trail ride together. He loves it! The brakes are nice and the front shocks/suspension is tight enough for him. It sometimes makes a "clicking" sound but it only lasts for a few seconds. He gets many compliments on the bike as well when we ride. Overall great purchase!

Awesome bike!!

This is an amazing bike for the price. After tuning it to my liking I fell in love with the bike. I would suggest this bike to anybody looking for a mountain bike with a great frame and some midrange components for the best price you can find. Also it has an awesome stealthy looking paint job.

Negative Reviews:

Looks great but it's not.

Bought this bike on line after trying in store. Took it to Dicks and had it put together. After riding bike in parking lot with bike tecnichian for a hour and a half trying to get bike to shift gears correctly and keep the chain on the bike I gave up and got my money back. Dont know if it was the tech's fault or the bikes but it wasn't worth my time to give him anymore chances. I will go to a dedicated bike shop from now on.

I have had the bike for about a month and a half, and have riden it a ( lot ). I personily think it is yes a good bike, only if you are a weekend worier. I have found that it has some problems handeling some of the technical parts of riding. Over all it is a good bike for what you pay for. ( Got to love the warranty )
