Dr. Martens Sophia T-Bar Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I got what I was after; a winter shoe I could wear to work all the time, sort of a no-brainer-throw-them-on type of shoe with a fairly comfortable and sturdy sole that won't hurt my feet after hours of standing and that I could possibly put an insert into. I have to wonder if the upper is truly leather. It's really smooth, makes me think it's polyurethane, but all the descriptions and the inside of the shoe indicate the outer is indeed leather. They are definitely different from my Docs I had in the mid-80s; the leather was definitely heavy and rougher than this. The inside is leather and some kind of softer man-made material at the forefoot. Like any Docs, they're going to require some wearing in before a long term wear. The only reason I give them four stars is because of the strange smoothness (but not unattractive) of the outside and a slight tightness in the toe of the left foot (although that's the one I've broken and had plantar fasciitis in), but if Dr. Martens has kept up their overall quality, I should see that tightness resolved when they're properly broken in. Overall, I'm very happy I have another pair of Docs after all these years!

I'm usually an 8.5/9 in shoes. Especially Dansko - I'm a solid 9 so I initially ordered these in a 9 and I felt like I was wearing clown shoes. I returned them for the 8 and they still feel a smidge too big but they work (and yes - I checked to make sure they were a UK6/US8). These shoes are super cute but I have a weird sensation that the heel is set so far back that I feel like I'm stepping down on the front of the heel instead of the middle of it. I do receive a lot of compliments on them.

Negative Reviews:

Bought these for my wife, first time buying shoes online. She loves the style of the shoe, but her foot floats around inside of them. The next size down is too small. No half sizes available.
