Dr. Martens Felice 8-Eye Boot Reviews:

These boots feel like slippers. Wonderful, light, airy, comfy, lace-up slippers. They definitely run big. I'm a solid 9, ordered a 9 and these feel like a 10. I decided to keep them because I just really wanted to wear them immediately. There is no break-in time. Just put them on and go. The card that comes with them says there are gel spots under the heel and ball of the foot. I believe it. They have the most lovely cushioned feel without being spongy. The sole isn't solid, it has air pockets in it. They are the lightest boot I've ever worn, and might be lighter than my running shoes. I live in DC and get around on foot, bus and metro - and I'm on a budget. This winter has been brutal and I wanted a sturdy but great looking boot to carry me into late spring as I'm out and about on these cold to chilly days. I'm running late half the time and end up running for the bus - these boots could not be more perfect. I wanted versatile, comfortable and stand-out boots for both weekend and commuting (I carry my office shoes to work) and these are perfect. These fit the budget criteria not because they are cheap (though, I did get them on sale) but because they function as so many shoes in one. Perfect with jeans, leggings or tights and great for errands, commuting, day-dates and beers with friends.

I love these boots. I normally wear an 8.5 or 9. I got the 8 and they are roomy but I wouldn't say they're too big. I think they are very comfy right out of the box, no breaking in required. They are also not really heavy but still feel well-constructed and sturdy. I've worn them in the rain and snow and they've held up well. I love the way they look, as well. I bought some black laces in case I want to switch out the beige ones, but so far I like the way the beige laces look. I like that they look a little different from the basic Doc Martens from my high school days.

These are very flexible and comfortable right out of the box. They look like the longer I wear the softer the leather will get. I did not like the way the cream laces looked with pants so I switched the laces to black ones and I like the way they look now. I am a size 8½ to 9 and I got the size 7 and they fit perfectly. I put an insert for arch support and there was still plenty of toe room in the shoe. These are my fun boots. If I want support to prevent plantar fasciitis I use Orthoheel shoes or inserts.

I love the styling, the soft leather, and the lower profile soles than the traditional Doc soles. I wish I had paid heed to the other review that recommended going a size smaller, but having wide feet I was afraid that they would be too narrow if I went down one size. The size I ordered was too big, and the smaller size was sold out by the time I wanted to reorder these. Although I didn't get to try on the smaller size, I am confident they would have been wide enough. I regrettably had to return these and opt for a different style.

I love Docs and have been wearing them for years. These are by far the most comfortable pair I have owned. The soft leather is very different from original docs material and allows for out-of-box wear with very little breaking in required - the only irritation I got was from the top ankle opening, easily resolved with a taller sock. They seem a bit wider than usual, but that may be because my other pair has a narrower toe. I also love the contrast stitching and laces, they really break up the harsh look you sometimes get from black leather.
