DT Swiss uses only the highest grade ceramic bearings and the DT Swiss 180’s are no exception. The ceramic cartridge bearings have ceramic ball bearings and stainless steel races that are sealed from contamination. Ceramic bearings are harder and have a lower rolling resistance then standard bearings while also being lighter and stiffer. DT Swiss also believes in a “no tool concept” that means that normal maintenance can be accomplished without any special tools.
