Dynafit Dy.N.A. PDG Ski Boot -

Dynafit Dyna PDG Ski Boot:   Inspired by the most famous ski mountaineering race in the world – the Patruille de Glacier, the PdG boot takes lightweight and high performance to a new level. If your weekends include ski mountaineering races or your morning ski is a quick 5,000 ft. lap – the PDG is your boot.  Dynafit combines a fiberglass upper shell with a Grilamid lower for stiffness and their unique Ultra lock buckle system for a cuff rotation range of 62 degrees – making anything possible. Dynafit’s motto is Speed Up - with the PDG boot you’ll understand. Weight 790 g (size 27)

  • Hook-and-buckle catches allow you to micro-adjust the buckles to dial in the perfect fit

Support and Cushioning:

  • Race liner keeps your boot lightweight, offers thermo-moldable customization, and provides a warm, cushioned surface between your foot and your boot

Weather and Wind:

  • 15-18 degrees of forward lean allow for an aggressive stance that enables control and power whether you're hopping through tight terrain or diving through deep snow

Traction and Grip:

  • EVO Race Sole is fitted with large rubber lugs that grip hardpack and slick ice with all the traction you need

  • Racing last is spartan and streamlined, but maintains a high level of comfort so you can run fast and aggressively without beating up your feet

  • Fiberglass cuff and spoiler help to minimize overall boot-weight without sacrificing the ability to drive hard through turns
  • Ultra-Lock System loosens the cuff into walk-hike mode on the fly
  • Injection-molded shell is thin and lightweight, with a soft and more progressive flex than that of this boot's big brother, the Dy.N.A. Evo
  • Injection-molded Grilamid shell, with a fiberglass cuff, offers state-of-the-sport lightweight performance
  • In walk/hike mode, the cuff is allowed up to 62 degrees of rotation so you can get all the freedom you need to skin and hike effortlessly
  • Ultra-Lock buckle system flips between ski and walk/hike modes with a simple flick of the top buckle, which loosens the cuff for skinning
  • 62 degree cuff fore/aft swivel makes climbing more efficient
  • Compatible with Dynafit Quick-Step-In binding systems (sold separately)

Go light and move fast when you slip your foot into the Dynafit Dy.N.A. PDG Ski Boot. Similar to its big brother, the Dy.N.A. Evo, the PDG offers the same hiking and gliding performance with only 100g of added weight. From its Quick Step-In binding compatibility to the light, stiff shell and plenty of forward-lean capability, you'll find all the race-ready features you need to ascend with speed and descend with power.

Positive Reviews:

The best boots ever! These boots are so amazingly light, and comfortable!

Chris at Backcountry.com on 04/05/2013

Neutral Reviews:

I really like this boot. It skis like a TLT6 without the tongue and even less weight. Which says it skis exceptionally well. Sole wear is a problem to be aware of. Still no idea when or if Dynafit is going to offers rubber for a resole. I'd ask first before buying. But as I said...I really like this boot. It is enough boot to push around my 113mm short Huascarans amazingly enough. But better used on lighter, skinnier full on speed touring or race skis.
They fit crampons well (grivel) and climb technical terrian nicely. Just don't use them on rock/talus/ rough trails...the soles will shred in the blink of an eye. 5 star PLUS ski/race boot...3 star skimo boot because of the lack of durability in the sole. Too bad that.
