Dynafit Manaslu Of The Summit Randonee Skis -

The Dynafit Manaslu Lady of the Summit skis live for big-mountain adventures where powder snow is plentiful and steep lines abound.

Lining and Layers:

  • Biaxial prepreg fiberglass and carbon layers above and below the core provide good torsional stiffness and lateral reinforcement without weighing the skis down

Weather and Wind:

  • 92mm ski waists (on the 169cm skis) float through powder and crud during big-mountain, high-speed descents; 23cm-long rockered shovels excel in soft snow

  • Base or topsheet color may vary from online photo
  • SpeedSkinFix system does not interfere with the attachment of other brands of skins that feature a tip loop and tail clip
  • Dynafit Manaslu Lady of the Summit skis have a sintered graphite coating on the bases to enhance glide and improve wax retention
  • Dual radius sidecut, featuring a tight radius toward the front and a wide radius in the waist, allows both quick turn initiation and large turns at high speeds
  • Ultralight paulownia wood cores keep the skis light and exceptionally smooth on every turn
  • Patented titanal Dynafit Ski Insert System eliminates the need to drill your ski for Dynafit bindings (sold separately) and creates excellent ski-to-binding holding strength

Dynafit Manaslu Of The Summit Randonee Skis Reviews:

My favorite ski

I've used this as my primary backcountry ski for 3-4 seasons now. I have tried others and keep coming back to this ski as my favorite.
It is incredibly light. Very good in powder, which is what I like to ski. It does ok in the resort on firm (not icy) but it's best use is powder. I've tried wider skis and unless the snow is super deep (2 or more feet) I prefer this ski. Skins uphill like a dream and with the early rise tip turns as quick as I want on the down and floats well in boot top snow. I prefer a short turn radius ski and in the 161 length I can turn easily (I'm 5'2, 115#) I just returned from a 7 day hut trip in BC and loved how these skis performed. If you want a ski that is truly dedicated to back country use, this is a worthy choice. For mixed resort and back country use a heavier ski may suit you better.

So Lightweight

I'm a rather new backcountry skier and my previous G3 set up is too heavy to skin or carry on my back for long trips. I bought the Manaslu to use as my primary touring ski. The Manaslu is incredibly lightweight and maneuverable! I recently carried this ski to the summit of Mt. Adams and barely noticed the extra weight on my backpack. The ski down was equally as fabulous-this ski is easy to turn, has excellent edges, and handles any crud along the way. I was nervous that this ski would be too skinny and not stable enough. However, it allows me to turn smoothly and quickly and offers much stability.
