Made in the shade

Had to wait a little bit for the EZ Up to come in, but it was worth it. Have used it twice now; easy to erect and take down, but it does take two people to accomplish that task. Fabric top color is unique to Cabelas and is heavier than others similar products I've seen. The frame is quite sturdy as well. It comes with ground stakes, but for hard surface use, weights on the uprights is the way to go. Keep in mind this not intended to be a permanent shade cover, although I have left it up for few days in row without any problems. Great for outdoor cookouts and parties as the size covers a standard picnic table with benches. Product fits into the supplied cover/transport bag after disassembly. A little extra work is needed to attach covering for the first use, but after that it goes up without a hitch. All in all, a great buy!

Bang for the buck

For the price of this canopy, it is hard to beat. Well made for the low cost.
They will collect water if you let it get a lot of rain. One thing that helps is to add an extension to the center post. It is spring loaded and can be made to hold the fabric much more taunt. All you need is a couple of 3" bolts and a nut to hold them together. Thread each bolt into the single nut, use a wrench to tighten them into a single entity. Next remove the center post rod and the black plastic guide from the square center tube. Drop in your bolt, re-install the plastic guide and the center rod and you're good to go. This really helps a lot with the pooling.

Very durable canopy

For the money, this canopy is the best. The center cross supports for the sides make all the difference in the wind. I have had this out many times in the wind including this last weekend with heavy sustained winds & even higher gusts. Where others collapse from the wind & bend side supprts, this one stands strong. Definitely would recommend it to anyone looking for a sturdy canopy.

Negative Reviews:

Do not leave unattended when it rains

There are two reasons you would have an ezup. One, to keep the sun off you. Two, in case it rains. Well. It is not designed to withstand rain. The combination of weak structure and pooling of water in the canopy is a recipe for disaster. The entire frame is trashed if a collapse takes place since the trusses are made of 3/8 by 1 inch bars creating an inherent weak point where the fastener bolts are. When the rain took it down, every single truss bar failed at at the fastener hole. Throw it away when it happens.
