So pretty and functional - When I first tried these on I was disappointed, after having returned a pair of Earth "Stunning" the day before...(Zappos customer service was fabulous as always). :) However, these are great after you get used to them and they fit great (although a little rubbage on the pinkies occurred after a full day of walking in them). This is no biggie, as I can feel them stretching out just great already. Nice one, Earth. My faith in you is renewed! (P.S. I wear an 8.5 in ALL of my other Earths, but with these I went for an 8 and they fit just right.)

comfort and style

Rating:****
I use this shoe for work. At least three days a week I walk 30 minutes to get to my carpool partners. After an 8 hr work day, this shoe is still comfortable and offers the needed support for the walk. (Which means, in the morning, I do not have to take an extra pair of "walking" shoes with me.) It is unfortunate that the black shoe is not available in my size. I ordered both Ash land and Forest old stone. Unfortunately, I had to return the Forest old stone because it was too green for everyday wear. Thank you.

I'm in love! I live in black flats, but my feet had been hurting. Then I remembered the summer that I worked ten hour shifts in a cafe and wore Earth shoes. My feet never hurt. So I browsed through Zappos and found these lovely flats. They're as pretty, light and comfortable as you're hoping they'll be. Give them a day or two to break in, and soon you'll be in love too. And don't forget, you're burning extra calories and aligning/perfecting your posture as you wear these. Try these beauties!

These shoes are so much more attractive than most comfort shoes. The brown color is not too light or too dark making it wearable with fashions for spring, summer, and early fall. My only negative (and reason I must return them) is that the construction or fabric is too stiff in the toe. I have a very sensitive big toe on both feet and need the material to be extremely soft and flexible or my toes will throb all day. Other than that, it's a very comfortable, cute shoe.

These are good in length and the back strap isn't short like most sling backs, but the toe-box is a little narrow. I do have bunions which doesn't help, but the Earth shoes help my back pain so much that I am going to keep them. I'm hoping the toe-box will stretch out a little because I love this style shoe. I am a true size 9 and the 9 fit great except for the small toe.

Earth Provoke In Black - I was a little disappointed in the arch support. They are not as defined as the other Earth shoes I have owned in the past. I was thrilled to find a dressier shoe that could be worn with dresses and to the office. Now if they can make this shoe in a leather so I can wear it in the summer, that would be great. The faux suede won't work for summer.

Happy Feet!

Rating:*****
I love this shoe. My foot is a bit narrow, so I worried that it would be too wide. However, it feels great, which means it might run a little narrow for someone with a wider foot. The color is a lovely pale sage green. Very nice alternative to a conventional sandal for casual wear.

slightly dressy, very comfortable

Rating:****
Standard Earth fit: half-size long, somewhat wide. These gap a little on the side because of the width, but the shoes can definitely pass as slightly dressy, especially in black suede. They have done a good job of hiding the Earth-iness. There is some arch support, but not as much as in Earth sandals.

Earth - I'm having a difficult time w/the strap rubbing. It causes a blister on the back. I do a lot a walking and traveling. I'm looking for a pad to go around the strap. I wish I could find it as a mule w/o a strap.

Nice Looking, Not So Clunky

Rating:*****
Really nice looking, soft leather and the Stone is a great neutral color. I usually get a half size smaller than other shoes and so that was perfect. The negative heel does not feel extreme on this pair, so they are really easy to wear immediately.

Negative Reviews:

Great if you like flatulence.

Rating:**
This is my first experience with Earth Shoes. I love the negative heel, the slight workout I get each time I walk, the positive effect on my posture, the anti-shock cushion of the soles, the arch support. As for this shoe: although it's pretty, the strap around the back is quite loose and gaps unattractively; I have walked out of the shoe many times, especially when walking down steps; the cute cut-outs at the top irritate my small toes after I wear the shoes for several hours; I mistakenly thought the color would be a deep grey and was surprised to find that it was a moss green (it's a pretty color, but hard to match with my clothes); when my feet perspire (which is often, especially in the hot weather) the suction between my foot and the shoe periodically makes loud flatulence noises that are pretty embarrassing. I am returning this style, but exchanging it for a style with a closed back.

Not comfortable

Rating:*
I love my Earth sandals and was excited to get my shoes.....they didn't fit anything like the sandals....the heighth in the toe area was way too short which made the shoes seem too small. For how much I love the sandals I dislike the shoes and returned them. I will try again, but not mail order.

Pretty but uncomfortable

Rating:**
I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes, but have had luck with Earth shoes. These look comfortable, but cut into the tops of my feet and were too loose at the back.

no support

Just a flat shoe, thought it was going to add some style to my shoes but has no fit to it at all

They hurt my feet. Pretty stiff feeling

Rating:**
I love negative heel concept but these shoes were very stiff for me. I'm picky though.

Nice looking shoes

Rating:***
I haven't had Earth shoes since the 70's, and I was thrilled when I saw a cute pair at Sierra Trading Post for a very reasonable price. I really love the way these shoes look, and I'm sure I will be able to break them in, but right now the sling strap on the heel is uncomfortable. I have worn them twice, and both times I was forced to slide the strap off my heel after a while. I think this shoe runs just a bit small.

Great for a wide foot - At last a closed toe summer shoe for those of us who don't want to polish our toenails. However, unless you have a medium/wide foot this shoe will be too big on you. I agree with the other reviewers who state that this shoe needs an adjustable strap. The material is quite stiff and because I am swimming in the shoe it is, regretfully, being sent back. It would also be helpful if Earth made shoes for people with narrow feet.

Cute, but challenging

Rating:***
This is such a cute shoe! Very versatile; dresses up casual outfits and goes well with informal dresses, skirts, capris, shorts. However, the fit is very challenging! When I got my own size, the strap was very loose (I've walked out of the shoe!). When I got a 1/2 size down, my toes were slightly smashed up against the front. Have kept the larger of the two and wear them when I don't have a lot of walking to do.
Catwoman at Sierra Trading Post on 09/13/2009

Decent shoes

Rating:***
These shoes are decent, but not as good as some other Earth shoes. They are a bit narrow over the metatarsal heads, but I am hoping I just have to break them in. I thought they might be dressy enough for work, but when I wear them with slacks they look like clogs and not sling backs. Look good with jeans or a skirt. I already have a stain from water droplets that didn't dry back to its normal color.

Looked great but hurt

Rating:***
I loved these shoes but regrettably had to send them back - they pressed against the bone right below my big toe every time I took a step and really hurt - if it wasn't for that I definitely would have kept them. If they had been cut a little differently I think they would have worked for me.

So cute but ...

Rating:***
Needed 1/2 size larger, and had to shoe stretch around big toe joint area on my dominant foot. So hard to find comfortable shoes that look good with a dress, I really want these to work, and I think they will now. Haven't yet worn them a whole day though.

Cute to look at

Rating:***
Wanted a summer dress shoe for light colored dresses did not work I sent it back too expensive and fit is weird whole size to big I think strap was flapping but very cute shoes if you can get the color and fit right
shoe sky at Sierra Trading Post on 04/13/2009

Cute, but at a price.

Rating:***
These shoes are very cute, but the toe area is more narrow than a lot of other Earth styles. They rub on my little toes and do not have as much support as other styles.

NEEDS adjustable strap - Looks cute but the shoe needs an adjustable strap. Also the material over the toe area is Very Stiff!!! I am hoping it will soften with wear.

Cute shoes-too short

Rating:***
They were cute shoes, but just a bit too short in the toes. I sent them back and didn't order a new size. I really liked the looks of them.
