Warm and Cozy

It's really hard to find lined pants for women, especially short women, and these are great! Very soft, warm, wind resistant, and even a little bit water repellent. I personally love the lower cut waist. I do think the fit is a little wierd though (like most EMS pants) and I had a hard time deciding which size to get. The butt seems really tight in comparison to the waist so I ended up going for the loose waist and wearing a belt, but I'm a little worried the bunched belted waist might be uncomfortable under a pack hipbelt. I've worn them hiking and snowshoeing several times though and so far so good and I've been very warm and comfortable. Also with the bigger size (which is actually my normal pants size, but I usually wear a size down in EMS stuff) I have room to wear long johns if it's really really cold. But these are perfect alone in the high 20s to low 40s, and they aren't even too bad looking for gear pants.

great winter pants!

The best thing about these pants is that they are offered in the petit length. I am 5'2" (maybe 3"?)and the length is perfect, a real rarity. The store didn't carry these in the petit, so I had to order them online, well worth the effort. They are great for walking in winter temps, not overly warm so good for energetic walking and for wearing in fall and spring, too. They are lined with fuzziness, but not thickly. The outside layer blocks wind. These would not be warm enough for standing still in extreme cold.
I am a pretty normal size 8 (36-37" hips, 28" waist), yet had to go with a size 6 in these. The only thing I would change about these is that they are styled to sit very low on the hips, a modern cut, I suppose, and I would rather they sat up a bit higher, for ease of movement, modesty, and comfort. I would definitely have given these 5 stars if the waist was designed differently.

Nice and warm

I had been looking for a nice lined hiking pant for a while and I finally found a nice pair that fit. I am short 5'2" and the short is still a bit long. I have found that EMS is making their short pants longer than they did years ago. Not sure why but this pant for a short could be 1-2" shorter for a short pant. With my hiking boot or snow shoe this length should work well but for a sneaker it might drag in the back.
I wish there were more color choices as it only came in black.
Not a fan of the low waist and this is a little low but it is comfortable so I'll adjust.

Great for snow

Picked these up on sale and they are wonderful! Just wore them out in the snow and keep me compleatly warm and compleatly dry. When I got inside they were 100% dry after shoveling and sleding. I did wear mine with leggings under and was warm, almost hot at some points, in 12 degree(F) weather. The only downside is they are a bit long and low cut so there is a possibility snow could come in you boot or waistline, but I didn't have any issues, I actully like the fit. They also are prone to static and attracting lint. Overall if you get these on sale you cannot be the quality for the price. 9/10 would recommend.

Very warm and comfortable

I was looking for a pair of pants for rock climbing during cold days. They are perfect. Perfect fit for me even if there are maybe a little too much baggy but it allows me to hike uphill and climb without feeling them (5'3, 117 got the 4P), warm enough (very soft lining). Very happy with them! just one complaint: there is no built-in belt, I need to wear a belt if I don't want to lose them and with a harness it's not ideal...

Keep out the cold

For the money - you can't beat these pants! I had read about the low rise - so I wasn't surprised. That is how I wear my jeans - so it isn't a problem as I tend to wear longer tops. Went out the other day for a snowshoe but didn't put long underwear on underneath - stayed warm (22 deg. w/ a wind). If I were going to be out for an extended period ...I would wear long underwear though. Great pants!

Nice pants, great to find short length!

I wear these for my morning walks with my dog, down to about 20 degrees. Seem most comfortable 30-45 degree range. Would probably be great for lower temps with a pairs of silk long johns. I was delighted to find the "short" length - finally a pair that don't need to go to the tailor! Great cargo pockets for my phone and keys. Raelly do like these!

Light-weight but warm

These pants transition well from working inside to working outdoors. I'm not a fan of low-riding pants, but like these anyway, though I do wish they sat a bit higher on my hips. The fabric protects me from wind and rain. The design allows for a good range of motion.

Warm and waterproof

I work at a non-profit and spend a lot of time working outside during the day.The pants keep me warm and dry and allow a lot of flexibility for bending and lifting. They really do dry quickly so I am not left with soggy legs when I do get inside.

My go to pants cold weather activities

These pants were a true fit, length appropriate to wear with sneakers or hiking boots. Surface water repellant, easy to spot clean. Lining provided enough warmth for 40 to upper 30 degree weather. With a pair of long underwear, great in 20 degree weather. Nice look for city adventures.

Negative Reviews:

Taking them back NOW

I have been searching for lined hiking pants for short women FOREVER. Unfortunately, I found these and they are cut so low they are ridiculously uncomfortable. I can't imaging hiking in these pants. Too bad because they seem to be very warm and flexible, but cut lower than a bikini.

Nice Pants

I bought the pants for hiking, but there's NO WAY I could wear these hiking. The fit was small in the "waist" for a size 12 and the rise was so low that ANY movement revealed skin in the back. I sent them back. :(
