Eastern Mountain Sports Mountain Insulated Pants Reviews:

Feel invincible through the drifts.

Bought these pants as part of the Winter domination kit of my dreams. Tried them out for the first time two days ago, during a Nor'Easter that dumped a foot of snow on NYC, with large drifts. Plowed through them with ease, the pants stayed warm and dry, in fact you'd never tell from looking that I'd been through snow to the knees. Only slight downside is that the Medium size is quite big on me, although when I wear them over additional layers to snowshoe in the Vermont mountains, I may be glad for the additional size.

A better buy than similar North Face

These pants served me well for the 2nd half of the ski season, easily making the trip to upstate NY and around Central PA for numerous ski trips. They kept me dry and warm and had plenty of pockets to store gear.

I originally looked at purchasing a similar pair from North Face brand, but am happier with the EMS brand due to the lower price point and greater number of features. EMS branded items never cease to amaze and impress me!

Great Ski Pant!!

We bought these for my son and I. My son and I both love them. We skied in -10 deg weather and with appropriate layering base and second layer plus these was plenty warm. Now the hands were another story. I would recommend these for skiing for sure sure.

Great for the Price

Great pants for the price. Very warm and durable. I wore them for 1.5 hours of shoveling, then sledding, in -5 degree weather and they were great. My only complaint is the fit. I ordered the medium and they were very long on me; I am 5'9.

Very warm, good design

I'm a 33 waist, but the 32-34 waist size didn't fit. The sizing doesn't allow for the fact that you will be already wearing pants under the snowpants. Allow an extra inch or two in the waist when ordering. All the pockets are a real bonus.

Great Pants

Great pants. I was worried about a comment I read stating these were "Bell-Bottoms". I wore them for two day back country snowshoe trip. Climbed two peaks in 0 degree weather. I stayed nice and dry and warm! Bring back that Artic air!

Warm and dry

Love these snowpants already had a pair bought this second pair to have extras and because of side pockets and leg vents that help control heat. Warm and dry will use these all winter long, while working on my catskill winter 3500 patch!

As expected thus far

The fit is true to size and comfortable.
I cannot comment, however, on the quality and performance as I purchased the pant in preparation for the upcoming ski season. Looking forward to being knee deep in the white stuff!!

Awesome ski pants

Bought this product to replace a cheep pair of ski pants, they worked very well the first time out. Much warmer than my previous pair.

Great product with good quality

I generally had a good experience using the pats. Easy to put on with the side zippers.

Bell Bottoms.

A good technical pant but---below the knee they balloon out to a huge bellbottom! Without gaiters you cannot wear these pants. I can't understand why the heck you would design them this way. You have a short side zip for easy removal--so why the bell bottom? Who takes off their insulated pants and leaves their boots on? I can't think of a situation--except maybe diareeah--where you would do that--so why the bellbottom? I went trekking in Nepal last winter with these and had to wear gaiters below 15,000ft.. (where there is no snow) because of the ridiculously huge bellbottom. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Other than that they are exactly what you would want for cold weather winter stuff. Don't forget your gaiters.

Too Big

I had to return these pants. I bought them for winter mountaineering and backpacking. They are probably warm and waterproof but they are just way to big and bulky. I felt like I was going to trip over myself while walking in my house. I would not recommend these if you need movement in your legs.

Really heavy duty pants

We had to return these pants because they were much too bulky and heavy.
