Best Ever

I don't wear shorts often. I live on a lake during the summer and thought I would like to wear shorts sometimes. They never seem to fit right. I think my legs are a bit thicker than normal and shorts are usually odd looking because the legs are usually tighter and the rest of the shorts fit fine. These are great for me though. The legs of the shorts are not tight at all and I feel very comfortable in them. I tried one pair and since I liked them so much I got three other colors.

Cut for Curves!

Having a curvy female shape (I have wide hips and a defined bum) I have a tough time finding the right shorts. Most options are made for straight-shaped/legged women with few curves OR for larger women needing more overall room. For my shape, though, the ideal shorts are pretty much this style by EMS. They're not too long, or short, or snug, or loose. My one issue with these shorts is that EMS should give them a tad more flare in the leg for more freedom to move (ie-when climbing during a hike).

Great fit

Able to wear casual & look good enough to wear to parties without looking to outdoorsy.(not cargo like) would love if they came in black (HINT!) Great product ..after I bought in store (dark ash) I bought 4 colors ( skipped the rubber) online( as the store only had my size 8 in the ash) they aren't too short (professionally this is a necessity) nor to long ( personal preference). Only con is if I don't remove promptly from drier they wrinkle.. And I try very very hard not to iron! :)

Good quality for price

The shorts were billed as "as rugged as the trails and summit of Mt. Marcy" but the lightweight cotton of these shorts is not rugged enough for hiking in my book. I was hoping for something more like a heavy canvas - like my old EMS shorts - that I can scramble over rocks and scoot my butt across boulders without worrying about tearing or snagging my shorts. These seem too nice for that. I wouldn't even wear them camping. Still, they are nice for more casual use.

Gotta-have Basics for Summer

I bought a pair of these shorts early in the summer because I needed some basic shorts. I have other summer wear but I found myself choosing these comfortable sorts over everything else. They fit well and don't restrict motion. The pockets are useful and well-placed. These are a great everyday short. At the end of the summer I bought another pair because I loved the first so much. I would have bought more but they were sold out of my size!

Great short

I find it hard to find shorts that are the "right" length for me. Not too short but not down to my knees. As a track coach, I want to look professional at work but also functional. These shorts are perfect for work as they fit well, look nice straight from the dryer, and have good pockets. I also use them for casual wear. They are probably a little heavy for any sort of strenuous athletic activity- hiking, running, kayaking, etc.

The only shorts I wear any more

I purchased one pair last summer at my local EMS store. This year when I got all my summer clothes out I tried them on again and decided I would get a pair in every color available. You know how you have your favorite brand of jeans that fit your body so well? Well that is how these shorts are to me! The best fit.

Best shorts out there

These shorts are perfect for everyday casual wear. The material is soft but durable. The pockets are functional without looking like cargo shorts, so you can wear these to work related social functions in the summer. I bought my first pair last season and they look as good as when I bought them.

Great quality shorts.

Great quality shorts. Love the color and length. Unfortunately the waist is just way to big. Wish there was some way to adjust it. I kept the shorts and do wear with a belt but I am not able to wear them without. I ordered the small and I am 5'2'', 100lbs.

Well-made, but rise is a bit short

As with other EMS brand products, these shorts are great quality, especially for the price. I didn't buy these because they didn't fit me well, and the length was a bit shorter than I'm comfortable with. My torso is slightly long but not freakishly so. These shorts were binding across the crotch. Also, they run smaller than EMS' Montauk shorts. With vanity sizing running rampant, it's hard to say what a true size is these days. I feel like these sizes are pre-vanity sizing, which I applaud EMS for, but be forewarned.
