best i have owned

I just bought my second one in 2 years because I had to go down a size. My previous was a Large and was very long in the sleeves and big all around (for reference I am 5'9, 165lbs), I got a medium and it fits Perfectly. The only thing I am not 100% happy with is the fleece in this one is not as soft and heavy as my last one, but it is just as warm and a little lighter so I can't really complain. Very pleased with this jacket and have been for 2 years now.

Great Jacket

After my son needed a mid layer for his North Face shell , I decided to get him this for Xmas. After holding it for three weeks and trying it on quite a bit , I decided to purchase one of my own ! Great deal , fit , comfort and use. It's mid winter now and I use it on its own and a mid layer when skiing . It's also light enough just to wear running around. Free shipping and on sale ++ .

Very warm, yet lightweight.

Bought this to replace my everyday lightweight fleece. Very happy with it as my day to day jacket as it fits snugg, not bulky yet very warm. Still waiting to see how it is in wet weather. It is has been perfect for temperatures anywhere from mid 40's down to low 30's. Wish they made it with a hood and although I like the snugg fit, the material causes clothing to bunch up insleeves when putting on.

Great all-around jacket

I primarily use the Divergence jacket for cold weather active sports like backcountry skiing and snowshoeing. It's light enough to not overheat too fast yet warmer than mid or heavy weight base layers. The wind blocker really works and doesn't seem to prevent breathability. The fit is comfortable--not too tight nor too loose. I have shirts and jackets from other technical companies that are sometimes too snug fitting, and I'm a pretty slender guy.

Highly recommended

Very warm insulating layer or outer layer in more mild cold weather. Truly superior to lighter weight fleeces if warmth is your goal. Has all the right details: quality zipper, big enough around the neck, very comfy cuffs which keep the warmth in without cinching too much, stretch side panels, and a hem cinch cord. And as always from EMS, no obnoxious brand label. Excellent fleece. The best I've ever owned.

sherpa pile?

Earlier versions of this jacket had true sherpa pile interior that was super soft fluffy and warm. I have had at least 5 of these of jackets and the newer versions do not have a sherpa pile interior as stated, and are less warm than earlier versions of the same mens divergance jackets

Excellent fleece

Fleece is comfortable and snug in the right areas; however, it keeps the wind out. Note, I am 5'8" 158 31 waist and 40" chest. I like the understated looks (no logos), and yet it says quality. He panels are placed appropriately and the fleece is a dense.

Love this jacket!

I have an older EMS fleece jacket that I bought about 12 years ago, it is still a great jacket but I wanted a newer one with newer technology. You just can't get any better than this!

Nice Jacket

I love this jacket and everything about it except I wish that it came in a XXL. I am 6'4" and I need the extra length for a proper fit.

Sleek and warm

Love the fit and colors. Good weight under a jacket, attractive enough for casual dinners out. Bought all available colors in both the quarter zip and full zip.

Negative Reviews:

Disappointed

I really wanted to like this jacket. The Polartec Wind Pro on front and back were nicely warm. The problem I have is that the rather large elastic side panels offer very little insulation. I was wearing a Polartec 100 quarter zip pullover underneath and felt cold at the sides. I think elastic side panels of Polartec Power Stretch would be a far better and warmer choice. I will also agree with others who said that the sizing is on the narrow side.

Decent Jacket

My jacket was a gift from my wife.

The subtle logos make it appropriate for office use. The warmth of the fleece make it appropriate for outside use. I wear this fleece into the mid 20's (F). After that, I put on a shell or swap jackets.

I only have a few complaints. First the stitching on the snaps at the wrist fray very quickly. They appear to be single stitched. This can make the jacket rather unsightly if you are in a professional setting. Second, the hard tabs attached to the zippers detach from the strings after typical use. This happened on the main zipper and causes the jacket to look shabby. Of minor inconvenience, my cold, fat fingers have slipped off the zipper many times. Lastly, the interior lining in the "hand warmer pockets" is too thin. Over time, keys, ink pens, etc will wear holes in lining. This negates the purpose of the pockets for my use.

Overall, not a bad jacket. Just leaves some things to be desired.

Nice jacket. Bad fit.

I love this jacket and had one similar to this for 12 years. I needed a new one after old one began falling apart. This new design has incredibly long arms- wrist cuffs were completely covering my hands and fingers. I had to return it due to the odd style design. I'm 6 feet 200 lbs and large was too small and XL arms were way too long. Too bad they changed the design.

Divergence Jacket

Quality has gone down, have been wearing old divergence jacket that this one was bought to replace because its just not as we'll made as the older one
