Good belt, works!

It works for its intended use. Does not move when locked. Bottle opener is a plus, fun. Color note: I returned this product to the store and exchanged it for the black one - as rain forest appears gray on the website but it is not - in my opinion the color pictured is not even close. Belt is somewhat wide but fits standard loops. I like the classic EMS logo. I have not had it very long so I can't speak to its durability - it seems like it would last under normal/casual wear - I don't think it was intended for mountaineering. Final note, tail is a bit long for me as one size fits all - it would be nice to be able to cut a bit off a re-attach the belt 'tip'.

Built tough

I bought this for my husband who is a truck driver. He's been having issues with a reversible belt pinching and just belts in general not being comfortable for long trips. This belt is very well made and seems to be more comfortable for him. No issues with clasp wearing on the fabric yet. He's only had a few weeks though. I think the people having issues with these types of belts and the clasp ripping the fabric are just wearing them too tight. As for the color it is a nice darker green. On my computer it showed more like a military light green. Now on my iPhone I see the website color is correct.

My favorite belt!

This belt is great! It's made of thick heavy-duty cotton, tougher than it sounds, and buckles with teeth that bite into it instead of pre-done holes that dictate size increments, which is great for skinny folks like me that don't want to wear kid-sized belts. The bottle opener, contrary to popular belief, isn't hard to use while being worn; you just have to suck your gut in an inch and flip the buckle ninety degrees. I've had it for a year, worn it every day, and it still looks and feels like it did the day I bought it.

It has a bottle opener!

I purchased this belt some time around 2003 (it may have been earlier), and it is just starting to wear out now. It was worn reasonably consistantly, has been on camping trips, and across the country and back a few times on road trips. The only minor problem I've found is that the metal tip on the end of the belt is almost too wide for some of my pants, but I make it fit.

I'm actually leaving this review because I came here looking to pick up a new one.

Great belt

I have two of these - one in each colour. It's a little casual, but I still wear it to the office. The bottle opener works wonders (except for the unfortunate "undoing your belt" part) in a pinch. I find it great to travel with because it's quick to remove at the airport.

My older of the two developed a small snag in the fabric after about a year, but otherwise I don't see any adverse wear. It bothers me to see it, though it doesn't have any adverse effect.

Great, strong, simple belt

This belt is just great - looks nice, but also holds up really well when hiking. You won't catch this belt slipping in size or digging into your waist. It's soft and strong, a hard combination to come across. My favorite part is that it's customizable. I trimmed 5 inches off the fabric and scooted it inward, to minimize the extra length hanging off the belt when wrapped around my tiny waist. Great buy, and fairly fashionable too!

Nice Belt

Belt is super comfortable, easy to put on and has a bottle top opener. The material doesn't bind against the skin like a leather belt. The only down side is for those who wear larger sizes, the belt isn't extremely long, but it's perfect for me (34").

good product

good product. looks great. it also is great at parties if your not waering it. It is a great bottle opener, but you have to kindof take the belt off to do that. It overall is a great belt though

Great belt

Great belt, works well as rope too. I've used it as a leash, dryline, bungee cord, and beer bottle opener. It works great because it has the teeth instead of holes. It has a bottle opener on the buckle-very cool.

Lasted 15 years, and still going strong.

I've had this belt for 15 years and it has never failed. I wear it all year round and only switch to other belts for particularly "classy" events. In my book, you can't do any better.

Negative Reviews:

I would go for a different belt

I have had two of these belts, only because i had to return the first due to it failing. From the other reviews it seems that no one has had this problem. But I have had it twice.

The teeth on the clasp have torn up two belts to the point they dont hold anymore and they are very frayed. It has gotten to the point when there are little trenches where the teeth are sliding, so now I tighten it to a point and it will just slide and loosen. It is very frustrating because i like the belt. But there is no way I will ever buy one again.
