ECCO Sport Akka Mid Lite GTX Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

These are quality boots. They have a semi-rigid outsole, incredible toe-bumper protection, almost feels indestructible with the Kevlar, Gore-Tex mesh materials. It looks nice, although they made my feet look big. The boots as well as the shaft felt stiff, but they probably would soften somewhat with use. I have a bunion and felt the narrowness of this shoe might pose a problem on long hikes. Felt good just walking around my house with sufficient underfoot support. Not exactly a light hiker, but not a backpacker shoe either. Somewhere in between. I cannot comment on the grip of the lugs since I did not wear it out. I typically wear an 8½, but in hiking boots I wear a 9, ordered the size 40 in these. The size was appropriate with room to spare in the toes.

Neutral Reviews:

Substantial boot. Size runs large. I usually wear a size 6-6.5 (37), but these are big. They fit like a generous 7. The coated toe seems great at first, but when you walk -- because it is quite thick -- it causes creasing fairly sharply across the top of the shoe where the flimsier fabric is. Uncomfortable with a few steps around my kitchen; I can't imagine hiking in them. They also look kind of clunky, even for hiking boots. Although if they had fit and functioned correctly, I wouldn't have cared how they look.
