Great Shoes

Rating:*****
Like a previous reviewer stated, the 44 (supposed to fit a 10.5) fits me perfectly and I wear a 11.5 in almost everything else. The fit may be too narrow for some, but fit me better than most width D shoes. In short, these are extremely well made, have very high quality leather, and are stylish. I am a little concerned about the soles...they are latex....Latex? Anyway, so far they seem to be durable. Hopefully they can be resoled because I can tell you right now, I have worn out the soles on my other Ecco's long before the leather wears out. Also, they seem to be slippery on slick, wet surfaces. Other surfaces are no problem. They are not thickly padded under foot, but are very comfortable nonetheless. The inserts and midsole mold nicely to your foot. I'm not sure I'd pay $120 for them, but the [$] I paid was a great deal. Overall 5 starts. They do require a small amount of break in.

A great casual sport shoe

Rating:*****
I am suprised that reviewers can get completely opposite experiences from Ecco shoes. Can the quality control be that poor? I wear a size 42 and the two pair that I have purchased recently fit perfectly. These shoes required a brief breaking in period but I think that may be because of the yak leather which is thicker than cowhide. I suspect that it will look new when the soles are worn out. If you are concerned, as I was, that the toe is a rubber bumper let me tell you that it is not. It is made of leather which has a quilted stamped appearance that contrasts nicely with the rest of the shoe. Every thing about this shoe is very high quality: the leather(inside and out), the stitching, the molded sole. The design and detailing makes this a very attractive and comfortable shoe.

Cooler than they look

Rating:****
The fit of these shoes is consistent with the other pairs of Ecco shoes I own. They are very solidly built and I was surprised by how stylish they are. They are a bit stiff due to the Yak leather (this is the case with other Yak shoes from Ecco as well). They go well in casual and going out settings, not so sure about work unless its a casual work environment. Overall, very nice shoe.

Hoping They Last

Rating:****
For sizing they seem pretty much the same as all ECCO, maybe a 1/4 size small, but this is a narrow shoe. Definetly not as comfortable as my ECCO Track IV or Seawalkers, but OK after a day. I'm hoping they soften up a bit. With coupons these are about 1/2 price so I'm happy with them if they hold up.

Second Time, Great Shoe

Rating:*****
This is the second Ecco of this style (first pair was rust colored) I have owned. Wears like iron and very comfortible but some people might want to use a thin foam pad under the insole. Condition leather with boot cream. I wear a 11 1/2 and a 44 fits just right. Probably not for people with a wide foot.

Nice shoe!

Rating:****
Nice shoes. A bit stiff but its only my 3rd day with them. The YAK leather is nice and I'm satisfied with the quality and workmanship shown in this shoe. Just wish the price didn't fall right after I bought them....oh well....

Second Pair

Rating:****
First pair had the sole separate after 6 weeks or so. On second pair. Love the look and after initial break in (rubbed spot on heal) are fairly comfortable and the yak leather appears to be ver sturdy. I like them.

Nice Shoes

Rating:****
I have several pair of ecco shoes and have been wearing them for 5 years. These are a good pair of shoes at a great price.
Brokejaw at Sierra Trading Post on 04/06/2009

received compliments about the way they

Rating:****
really haven't decided if I will keep them yet--really want to but afraid they may be too narrow---wearing them in the house for now

Pleased with purchase

Rating:****
Ordered a size bigger than normal, because other reviews stated it ran small. Trually comfortable and supportive. Another good shoe from Ecco.

Negative Reviews:

Stiff

Rating:**
Feels to large although I just bought Ecco shoes at Norstroms and were measured and fit fine. These do not. Leather was far too stiff for me. They were returned.
Disea at Sierra Trading Post on 10/04/2009

not as comfortable as other ECCO shoes

Rating:**
sent them back in hopes of getting a second pair of a different model that was just what I expect of ECCO -- just was not comfortable on my feet.
plsathome at Sierra Trading Post on 06/03/2009

Ecco quality and proper sizing in questi

Rating:*
I've worn a 42 with Ecco for many years. This pair was a good half size to a full size too small.
MKG at Sierra Trading Post on 01/13/2009

great price beautiful

Rating:**
only buy this shoe if your foot is less than D width. way less.

BAD SOLE DESIGN - SEPARATED IN TWO WEEKS

Rating:*
The shoes fell apart after only a couple of weeks.

Neutral Reviews:

Yakkity Yak, don't fall back

Rating:***
Whoever said these shoes looked good enough for use with business causal is not in my league. These shoes look well made, but could only be used with jeans, etc. I needed business shoes so I returned them.
Papa at Sierra Trading Post on 06/01/2009

44's?

Rating:***
I've purchased three pairs of size 44 Ecco shoes. This is the first that was a disappointment. The left shoe seems a tad too narrow. I'm stretching it with a shoe tree.
Vipsanus at Sierra Trading Post on 01/15/2009

Looked nice, didn't fit

Rating:***
I read reviews who said these sometimes felt too small. Felt comfortable ordering an 8-8 1/2 accordingly, but found them way too big.
Southern Gent. at Sierra Trading Post on 03/11/2009

Nice but small sized.

Rating:***
I had to return them for a larger size; still waiting for the new pair.
EcoGuy at Sierra Trading Post on 03/15/2009

again, too narrow
