I got these for my boyfriend after getting tired of seeing him in regular shoes all summer. He didn't have a decent pair of sandals and hadn't owned any since he was a kid. So, I figured the best answer was to get him a good quality pair that wouldn't dig into his feet and he could feel comfortable wearing all summer. These perfectly fit the bill. They do tend to run larger than your regular tennis shoe size so don't be afraid to half-size or whole size it down (they only come in full sizes, so err on the small size if you're a halfer).

Totally worth it

If these are expensive for sandals, think of them more like a nice pair of shoes with large vents. They have a great walking sole, they fit snug, and with the brown straps they look good enough to wear around the office. My feet are very wide in front, and these are wide enough for me. The large cushioned straps feel comfortable so they don't have that sandal feeling. I wouldn't use them for running or heavy hiking, but certainly for long walks on pavement and all day wear. They've worn well so far, but when they wear out I'll be buying more.

True Trekking Sandals

It is true trekking boots without top! I was in the trip around Annapurna in Nepal for 16 walking days. All the time except 4 days above 3600 meters I wore Ecco Yucatan (in combination with the SmartWool Mountaineer Socks). The way was at least 90 km long. Soles has good support and amortization and is really helpful when walking up or down. When walking long it is necessary to wear socks because of blisters. Great product. Price is high but it is good value for money.

I will buy this product again and again

This is a great shoe, no shafing, moves with you, wear them to work everyday since I got them. I hope this is a shoe you keep in stock for the next 10 / 20 years. I did not get one blister from the moment I put them on. I have been wearing Teva's for years but these are even better and have a little more style for work, will be wearing them all year long. Love them. Need I say anymore.

Well Worth the Money

I'm 70 and began having feet problems. My doc recommended something with a bit of a heal rise and heal cup. So I tried these, and haven't had any further problems at all. I wore them for a ten hour day at the OC Fair with four young grandchildren, and my feet were fine the next day. Would not have been possible with my usual sandles that I used to wear. Well worth the extra money!

The same great sandals

This is probably the 3rd pair of these I have had over a dozen years. I have NEVER owned sandals that fit perfectly and don't rub a spot on your foot, from the first time you put them on. You can do anything in them from yard work to hiking. Simply the best sandals you can spend your money on.

Well worth the money!

Living in California I get a lot of use out of my sandals. Theses have been put to the test as I wear them several months out of the year. I am retired so that is a lot of miles.
My first pair just gave out after more than 2 years.
By far, the best sandal of it's type.

Nice looking but a little narrow for me.

These are nearly just right, but if I wear them too often I notice they are a little narrow for me, and one part where the strap attached to the sole eventually begins to irritate my foot and becomes mildly painful. So while these are nice, if you have a wider foot they may not be right for you.

Best Sandals Ever

These are the best pair of sandals I've ever owned. They are so comfortable, I would highly recommend them for anyone who does lots of walking and likes to feel comfortable. ECCO makes the best shoes, I would definitely buy another pair once I wear these out. Very comfortable overall, you will not be disappointed.

Yucatan is the only way to go!

I wear these sandals in every day life, but also as boat and lake shoes. Bought a second pair so i could keep one fresh while wearing the other. Wish they cost $30 to $50 less but in this case at least you really do get what you pay for.

Negative Reviews:

well constructed but.........

these sandals are expensive (like all Ecco products) but well made (I always buy their shoes) I splurged on these last summer....I am writing this review as I have found these sandals to be inherently unstable, and have caused me to nearly twist my ankle several seems that they are "too far from the ground" and need to be lower and broke my heart to consign them to the dustbin....but I just bought a pair of teva water sandals from REI and bingo no of that inherant stability and steady as a rock.....this might just be my problem but try these sandals out VERY carefully first.
