Nice little light...

I bought one of these as an impulse buy. I bought it specifically to live in my pack (ditty bag) as a backup to my LED headlight, and to keep handy in the tent.

So far I am very impressed with this thing! Like some of the Photons (and apparently an increasing number of other options) this thing is amazingly bright, more so because of its small size and light weight.

It is very well made and by all appearances it ought last the specified 10-15 hours (something like that.)

I think that all these small lights have their negatives, mostly because of how small they are. Kind of goes with the territory.

However, given how small and durable/well-made this is and how well it fills the role I bought it for, it's all good!

I gave it one ding for the fact that the batteries are not something I'd expect to find in a convenience store off the beaten path somewhere, however that's also true of most (all?) these puny powerful lights, and I intend to buy a set of spares and carry them. They are next to nothing after all, probably weigh about the same as a single dried apricot or something.

Oh, and at least when/where I bought mine it came in a cool little case to protect it and (most importantly) prevent it from in advertently being switched off.

Best mini light I have owned

This is the best key chain light I have owned.

This light is very bright, wide beam, very light (aluminum body) and feel very well made. The light turns on by rotating the bezel rather than the base where the clip attaches. This reduces the possibility that it would come unscrewed in your pocket like most mini lights do. Additionally the bezel is quite snug which reduces the possibility of accidentally turning it on in your pocket.

The body is Aluminum and the attached clip is plastic, but appears quite durable and is the quick release type. I have not tested its waterproofedness.

The batteries are the tiny LR41 batteries but the light has a little plastic caddy that the batteries go into that makes replacing them much simpler. The batteries can be found very cheaply online.

The only ding I could give it is that the beam brightness and width are not adjustable.

Amazing little light

Wow! My partner has a back injury and I am always on the lookout for lightweight useful gear that she can pack in herself. I honestly thought I was buying another dim little keychain reading light. Oh my gosh, this little light has a really powerful beam and weighs almost nothing! I recently took it on a 20 mile hike and was very pleasantly surprised with how well it worked as a proper flashlight. It is not a focused beam like some other flashlights, but it's ambient beam reached easily 20-30 feet. It has a little keychain clasp on it which I used to hang it from the loop at the top of my tent. Amazing! I am going back to buy one for myself.

awesome gadget

I bought this to tack on to my keychain as a safety precaution for every day use. It turned out to also be a great back-up to my headlamps on hiking and camping trips. It is tiny and light, and bright enough. This lamp has even come in handy on numerous occasions when I had to look in dark places for things that were dropped or rolled away. People are always impressed at how convenient it is to have something like this handy, and it gives an extra level of reassurance on camping trips and hikes.

my backup for "just in case"

I like this as a "just in case" I need a light and nothing else is available. I keep one on my day pack which goes to work with me and most places when I travel or go out and another one in my car. They are small but give off plenty of light. Says it lasts up to 15 hours so I guess I keep checking it out to see. Hey, you never know...

size makes no difference here

I had been looking for a light of this size to carry on my keys. i dont like extra bulk, and hadn't been able to find a light of this size till today.
this small single LED light is perfect for keys or as advertised backpack. i dont even know its there till i need it. and is far brighter than other single LED lights i have bought in the past

We love these lights. They are super bright. They are so light weight and compact. They make great back up lights when hiking but they are also so convenient to carry on a key chain for everyday use.

Great little light

I bought this after the zipper pull on my camping jacket broke. What a great back up light. Very bright. I plan to put one on all my keychains as well as some other camping gear.

Bought this light because it is small and simple for a backup light. Very bright for such a tiny package, and the build quality is great too.

Great led lamp!

Nice small led lamp!
The problem is that when batteries run out you have to order them to eGear... Next time I'll get an AAA lamp...

Negative Reviews:

Based on the other reviews, I must be the exception, but this light did not live up to my expectations.

As far as feel, size, purpose, it is great (the reason why i purchased it in the first place). When I took it out of the package however, different story. I turned it on and the light was very dim and unless you held it about an inch from something, it was worthless. My first thought was maybe the batteries were low; however, upon twisting the bezel (to turn it on) back and forth, it finally came on, and was very bright and was what i was looking for. However, every time i tried to turn it on again, it would turn on dim, and I would have to micro-adjust it until the full beam came on. If you need a light source, you should not have to fiddle around with adjusting it (I started to ask myself, should I use duct tape on this???).

Nice design, feel, look, and concept, but when it came to actually working, it was sketchy. I'm going to return it ASAP.

comes apart easily--not in a good way

A couple months ago I bought one of these for my key ring (car and house keys). From the beginning it wasn't very reliable. Like one reviewer said, it needed micro-adjusting. The bigger problem for me was that it kept coming apart. For example, more than once I happened to notice the battery and other parts on the car mat under my feet. A couple days ago, I noticed that the bulb/battery are missing. Unfortunately this time I have no idea where they are.

good quality - bad batteries

The product was well designed, but unfortunately it costs more than the flashlight is worth to replace the batteries. Instead of using a standard off the shelf hearing aid battery, it uses an expensive battery that costs about $5 each. (I went to a local pharmacy and looked it up). If you go online you can get the batteries cheap, but who has time to do that?
