2014 Elan Amphibio Insomnia Ski Review

Hi. I'm Julie. I just got off the Elan Amphibio Insomnia. I give this ski a 4 out 5 star rating. I thought it was a nice, smooth, stable ski. It's pretty predictable. When you get into a little bit more neutral positioning over the ski, it does come to life a little more. It was great at short and long radius turns. Again, the Amphibio collection does have a right and left ski so the inside of the edges of the skis are actually cambered while the outside ski is rockered. So that's going to allow it to grip and bite on the outside ski but that inside ski will keep from hooking up. That's kind of a feel that I tend to look for in a performance level ski. That was just why I have to give this a 4 out of 5 star rating.

2014 Elan Amphibio Insomnia Ski Review

Hi, I'm Jess. I just got off the Elan Amphibio Insomnia. I would give these skis a 4 out of 5 star rating. They are for an advanced to expert skier. They've got a smaller under foot, so this is a true carving ski, and it does exactly what it's meant to do. It holds incredibly well on edge, especially at high speeds, it's to get over from edge to edge to initiate turns. This ski does that very, very well. It can be a little unsteady when you get into some cruds, because this is truly meant to be a carving ski, so, please keep that in mind.

2014 Elan Amphibio Insomnia Ski Review

Hi, I'm Beth and this is the Elan Amphibio Insomnia. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars It was great for an upper intermediate or expert ski, very snappy. Held an edge beautifully in long or short radius turns. Due to the length of the tail and the snap in the tail, wouldn't recommend it in powder, crud, or bumps necessarily, unless you want a wild ride, but for any groomed cruise day, it'll make it nice and exciting for you. Go out and check it out. 4 out of 5 stars.

2014 Elan Amphibio Insomnia Ski Review

Hi. I'm Emily. I just got off of the Elan Amphibio Insomnia. I give this ski a 5 out of 5 rating for an intermediate-to-advanced woman's skier. This was a lot of fun. It held a great edge in between short and long turns. It was the right combination of energy in-and-out of your turns without being too aggressive or too poppy. So, it's very, very manageable but at the same time can absolutely rip anything on the frontside. So, I give this a 5 out of rating for that intermediate-to-advanced women's skier.
